tirkalany VCSCommands user around?
thkochMy Vim7.0 on Debian Testing tells me that "XMLns" isn't an editor command. How can I convince it, that it is one?
deryniIs that from a script?
thkochI followed this: http://www.bononia.it/~zack/blog//posts/2007/02/dtd2vim.html
deryniAnd you followed them all?
thkochderyni: yes.
I only changed the line cd /tmp/docbook-dtd/ to cd /tmp/docbook-dtd/4.4
deryniIf you loaded the ftplugin/xml.vim file then you should have the right command, I believe.
Did you get that line right?
tpopeyeah, edit an xml file first
thkochI copied xml.vim from usr/share/vim-scripts to my .vim/ftplugin
deryniI don't know what file that is but I don't think that's the one it is talking about.
tpopethat's definitely the problem
by doing that, you disabled the built in ftplugin
you did the exact opposite of what needs to be done
thkochdeleted xml.vim now and there's no error message anymore! thx tpope and deryni!
deryniTry following directions a bit more carefully next time. =)
tpopethe guy that made that xml.vim did it in a dumb way
because he did it in a way that broke the builtin vim stuff
deryniWhy am I not surprised.
tpopewhat a noob
yet for some reason it ships with the debian vim scripts packages
s/s$//
while surround.vim gets stiffed
SIGH
thkochWell, actually there was no direction not to have xml.vim anywhere...
So you don't recomment touching this evil xml.vim anymore0
tpopebecause it's so dumb it goes without saying
thkoch?
tpopebut it's not really your fault
it's the creators
