tpopemy friends
help me talk up (in the form of an abstract) a presentation about how awesome it is to do rails development with vim
I already wrote the part about how awesome I am
jcreighokay, good, that's an important part.
surround.vim rocks
tpopeyeah now all that's left is a summary of the presentation itself
I need something that doesn't offend textmate users
but at the same time, implies that maybe there is something better out there
frogonwheelswhy?
:)
tpopebecause it's a ruby on rails user group
os x/textmate dominates
and I need a catchy title
something like
Rails and Vim: Orgasm while programming
softdrink"How I ruined a good pair of jeans with Rails and Vim"
tpopehaha, I like it
that's aaalmost subtle enough to slip by
softdrinkehe
"Chicks dig Rails guys that use Vim."
tpopeWhen Vim Met Rails
: ...
I dunno
softdrinkRuby on Rails on Vim. Hot.
hehe
tpopeI need a good grabbing intro line
even more than the title, really
titles are easy to BS
softdrinkhmmm
tpopeTextMate may be the latest craze for developing Ruby on Rails applications, but Vim is forever.
that's from the help file
I think it's good
but that's targetted more at vim users
softdrinktrue
tpopeI don't want to piss off my audience with even a subtle jab at textmate
softdrinkgenerally, vim users are in it for the long haul anyway
tpopeyou know how those mac fanatics are
softdrinkhehe
<-- mac and vim fanatic
SAS_Spidey01Some how I think you automatically love Vim once you learn it, or hate the Vi in it to much to get that far.
