Zathruswiedenmann: which is identical to ctrl-o ctrl-x
er, ctrl-o ctrl-e/y
paco_but that works only once
not very practical :)
toxikIf one starts gvim/vim from the command-line, as a subprocess of another process - that is, not from the shell - can one use stdin/stdout to communicate with g?vim?
Zathrusno
paco_: I see.
Mystique_hey all
how do you get vim to recognize the vim statements at the bottom of a file?
Zathrus:set modeline
spiiphI'll try this again; is there some way to do table-like indentation for a series of very similar lines of code with cindent? I can post an example if necessary.
Mystique_and then how does it go in the bttom of the file?
just #vim:set syntax=dhcpd
ZathrusMystique_: :he modeline
Mystique_if I wanted to auto syntax this file as dhcpd
Zathrusspiiph: not that I'm aware of
wiedenmannshouldn't there be spaces like # vim :set syntax=dhcpd
spiiphZathrus, know if there's some other indentation rules or some script which can handle that?
Zathrusspiiph: no clue
spiiphOkay
Zathruswiedenmann: closer, but set is unnecessary (but allowable by vim and some versions of vi)
okdavinciit 's boring ,noting todo
wiedenmannwrite a sudoku solver in vim
port Lapack from Fortran to C++
talk to your familie
...
okdavinciwhat's Lapack ?a program on what?
wiedenmannhttp://www.netlib.org/lapack/
okdavincia you porting it from Fortan to C++ now ?
wiedenmannno, but I hate Fortran and I program in C++
Zathrusheh, good luck getting that in C++ anywhere close to the efficiency of Fortran
tsbHow do you open a new buffer and the filebrowser in that buffer? using tabs you do ":tabnew ."
wiedenmannIf speed were the argument one would still have to program assembler, what if you just need some eigenvalues, you dont care about e-3 sec or e-1 sec.
Zathrustsb: :e .
wiedenmann: no, because most modern compilers emit more efficient machine code from C/C++ than humans can manage.
tsbthanks
wiedenmannproof?
Zathruswiedenmann: and there's already a clapack and lapack++ -- although I certainly have no idea how good or complete they are.
inad922Anyone knows if there is a way to clear a socket descriptor so if I recv a long msg send a shorter 1 and then recv a very short 1 I wont read back the sent msg at the end of the short recved 1?
Zathruswiedenmann: that's been true since the early RISC chips. Go do some reading; I'm not about to go over the last 20 years of computer science here.
