|unix_infidel||great, now i cant get it to read ANYTHING rc :(|
still on the ox box, trying to set ~/.vimrc to use colorscheme evening setting but its not sticking.
i know its using THAT file becuase its complying with whatever else settings i'm using.
|deryni||What's the problem?|
|unix_infidel||i'm trying to apply colorscheme settings to vim.app.|
i've entered colorscheme evening into .vimrc and .gvimrc
|deryni||And what happens when you try to use it?|
|unix_infidel||whenever i execute Vim.app from finder it shows default colorscheme|
however, all other settings are functional.
|deryni||And what happens if you try to :colorscheme evening by hand?|
|unix_infidel||works just fine.|
|deryni||What does :scriptnames say after you start vim?|
|deryni||Does it list a colorscheme?|
|deryni||Something that isn't evening?|
|unix_infidel||no, it lists evening after /runtime/colors|
|deryni||Before or after you ran :colorscheme yourself?|
|unix_infidel||before and after.|
|deryni||Any other lines which say 'colors'?|
|deryni||When you first start up vim what does :verbose highlight Normal say (or Comment or some other highlight class)?|
|unix_infidel||Normal xxx guibg=grey90 font=Monaco|
|deryni||With verbose that's all it says?|
|unix_infidel||i've also tried setting the full path in ~/.vimrc for the colorschme.vim file.|
deryni: with :verbose highlight Normal
that's the first line, the second line is last set from ~/.gvimrc
|deryni||Do you have highlights specified in your gvimrc?|
|unix_infidel||you mean do i have the line "colorscheme evening" in ~/.gvimrc|
|deryni||No, I mean do you have highlight ... lines in your gvimrc.|
Normal, Cursor, lCursor, NonText, Constant, Special
|deryni||Are they before or after you set the colorscheme? Have you tried commenting them out?|
|unix_infidel||commenting them out worked, thanks.|
that was odd.
