unix_infidelgreat, now i cant get it to read ANYTHING rc :(

i know its using THAT file becuase its complying with whatever else settings i'm using.
anyone?
deryniWhat's the problem?
unix_infideli'm trying to apply colorscheme settings to vim.app.
deryniOk, and?
unix_infidelnot working.
i've entered colorscheme evening into .vimrc and .gvimrc
deryniAnd what happens when you try to use it?
unix_infidelwhenever i execute Vim.app from finder it shows default colorscheme
however, all other settings are functional.
deryniAnd what happens if you try to :colorscheme evening by hand?
unix_infidelworks just fine.
deryniWhat does :scriptnames say after you start vim?
unix_infidelpastebin it?
deryniDoes it list a colorscheme?
unix_infidelyes.
deryniSomething that isn't evening?
unix_infidelno, it lists evening after /runtime/colors
deryniBefore or after you ran :colorscheme yourself?
unix_infidelbefore and after.
deryniAny other lines which say 'colors'?
unix_infidelno
deryniWhen you first start up vim what does :verbose highlight Normal say (or Comment or some other highlight class)?
unix_infidelNormal xxx guibg=grey90 font=Monaco
deryniWith verbose that's all it says?
unix_infideli've also tried setting the full path in ~/.vimrc for the colorschme.vim file.
deryni: with :verbose highlight Normal
that's the first line, the second line is last set from ~/.gvimrc
deryniDo you have highlights specified in your gvimrc?
unix_infidelyou mean do i have the line "colorscheme evening" in ~/.gvimrc
yes.
deryniNo, I mean do you have highlight ... lines in your gvimrc.
unix_infidelyes.
Normal, Cursor, lCursor, NonText, Constant, Special
deryniAre they before or after you set the colorscheme? Have you tried commenting them out?
unix_infidelcommenting them out worked, thanks.
