Araxiais there a keyword for refresh screen (e.g. ^L)? i'd like to do something like this: "map ^L <Esc>:noh<Return><refresh screen>"
found it. :he redraw
tpopethat's not a bad idea Araxia
it's a good place to put it without covering anything up

Araxiayeah. pretty handy.
map <Esc>:noh<Return><Esc>:redraw<Return>
improvements?
doh...^L in there.
tpope<C-L>
you don't need the escapes
and I'd define it in terms of the original ctrl-l
like this
noremap <C-L> :nohls<CR><C-L>
and silence the status line
noremap <silent> <C-L> :nohls<CR><C-L>
Araxiasweet.
Zathrusand add sugar on top
tpopemake it nnoremap
otherwise that will break in visual mode

Araxiaawesome. i try to fix a little niggle and learn four new things. thanks, tpope.
nikkneso, I need 4 s'es :)
%s/, 17001,/, 21001,/g;:%s/(17001,/(21001,/g;:%s/, 17001)/, 21001)/g;:%s/nslrack83/nslrack83-4/g
but this doesn't work, since I get 'Trailing characters' error
ZathrusAraxia: if you want to learn five, do the above, but change it from :nnoremap to :nmap. Then figure out how to kill the infinite loop. ;)
ipkissnikkne: :h :|
nikkneI thought ; splits commands
Zathrusnikkne: nope, :he bar
whatspyhey. back in the days, dreamweaver allowed to make use of nice custom "snippets". for instance as a programmer you so often need an if-else block or a 'for' loop. what's the vim equivalent of this ?
I don't even know what to google
