danlock2diabolix: what gui should i use for it?
diabolixPCBSD has an easy gui, it comes with kde.
Thundercraigbass1976, I am not sure. I just went thru synaptic looking for a dkms module for my webcam, and I can only find a source for it, which says i need kernel source and kernel headers. I am lost
diabolixPCBSD is the ubuntu of freebsd.
z0x1cPloneDudez, do you want each file individually or a sum total?
craigbass1976What port does cups run on, 631?
actionusser PCBSD is a windows of BSDs
usserPCBSD is a windows of BSDs
EchoBinarygeneral question... setting up a file server with a huge raid drive 2TB+ hosting mostly files in the 1GB+ range... any suggestions for cross platform filesystem types that would be performance minded?
ThunderCamera uses SPCA5XX
danlock2diabolix: okay... I'll probablly just stick with my terminal... I have to choose an operating system for these bad boys soon.
diabolixdanlock2, who are you picking an os for?
fotoflo_PloneDudez, looks like you might have to write a shell script
demonsporkI followed the instructions on the web page that ubotu gave me and now I still can't play DVDs
danlock2diabolix: its a cyber-defense competiton
Thundercraigbass1976, ttbomk, cups is on 631 - at least it was where i came from.
danlock2as i know the most about linux in the group, i'm sorta in charge
Rimtechwhat are my options of syncronizing my windows mobile 5.0 pda with some pim in linux... preferably thunderbird
diabolixdanlock2, most windows users tend to feel most confortable in kde, but i like to freak people out and use fluxbox or openstep.
wescotteanyone know how to get kdenlive to work w/ 7.04?
mjbrooksdiabolix, lol
danlock2diabolix.... OS, not GUI.
craigbass1976thunder, did you get a pm?
mjbrooksdiabolix, enlightenment is good for that too
diabolixdanlock2, oh... i like ubuntu cause its usually easy to set up.
z0x1cdanlock2, what is your objection to FreeBSD? Linux' firewall is arguably more configurable, and FreeBSD has no equivalent to SELinux. good server OS, though.
m1ceis anyone having trouble with near 100% cpu usage in 7.04, despite no single process taking up too much memory?
Thunderyes craigbass1976 I just replied to it
PloneDudezsorry my PC hung.... anyone knoes how to use the "WC" command recursively and count the number of lines in a folder and subfolders...
z0x1cPloneDudez, do you want each file individually or a sum total?
fotoflo_PloneDudez, looks like you might have to write a shell script
craigbass1976thunder, oh, I don't see the reply
danlock2diabolix, i have to have @ least one windows box, and one legacy box, and i have to have FTP, Email, web server, remote programming enviroment and DNS, pick me a good OS for most of the systems.
