w00dr0wok, who here can figure out how to get write access to an NTFS drive without any possible damage to the drive partition?
hendrikhello

jusama14trumpeter2003, again, I will tell you that I have looked through their entire site and found no piece of information that helps
hauksyo
trumpeter2003w00dr0w: ntfs-3g is pretty stable and I've had no issues with it
ydow00dr0w: ntfs-3g
Possumw00dr0w, you're gonna be waiting for an answer for some time
haukswhen i enable desctop effects, the screen just turnes brown, and i can't see anything. I've downloaded beryl, but don't get it working... any tips fellow ubuntu users? :)

bur[n]erhauks: video card type?
hauks: have the restricted drivers?
trumpeter2003jusama14: Then ask for a more speific answer than help with xmame, but it isn't as simple as saying, how do I mount a drive to linux
RockClimberhey, do the live cds include a repartitioning tool (like qtparted or somesuch) to resize existing partitions
Possumw00dr0w, there's always _some_ (extremely small with ntfs-3g) chance that ntfs write will break
hauksbur[n]er, yes
soundrayRockClimber: gparted
hauksthe video card works just fine
RockClimbersoundray, thanks

jusama14How do i launch a game on xmame, where do i put it, what's the command?
andy__Possum, I will do some googling :)
drachenI'm trying to set up an ssh file server and a VNC server on my ubuntu box. SSH is halfway set up, I can get in using a PuTTY client, but not a file sharing client. VNC I'm stumped.
Possumandy__, good luck, but don't get your hopes up :P
andy__but in Windows, it also works like yours so
Possum, I don't ;)
ydoI'm currently compiling linux-2.6.21-rc7-mm2.. but what about the 'restricted drivers' (which I need for wlan).. where are those and how do I use them with a custom kernel?
bur[n]erdrachen: try winscp as the file transfer client?
andy__how can I still use IRC but all other internet traffic is "dead"?
so weird. stupid isp
void^ydo: you find and compile them yourself manually. can be tricky with -mm kernels.
bur[n]erdrachen: use gnome? if so, just turn on "remote desktop"
hauks: you didn't tell me what kind of card :P
drachenburner: I will try those, brb
hauksoh, sec
