bthorntonGot a hardware question that's not directly Linux related (although I run Linux on the hardware in question): I have a Compaq/HP laptop which currently has a PATA hard-drive. Is it possible that this laptop might also support SATA at the same time? Or is it one-or-the-other?

soundraykekos: you don't need a driver for a USB memory stick. Did you check dmesg output after plugging it in?
