birdmunshould be able to though
reepDesmaano: switch /mount/point with the actually mount point ;)
bruenigI don't think so
Spee_DerAny suggestions on how to enter the BIOS setup for an Compaq Armada 4160T laptop. I can not locate the correct software to allow me so I can change the start from CD.
birdmunright?
reepDesmaano: I think you changed it from /media/disk1 to something else?
neilthereildeili need jdk5 update 10 for class
Desmaanono its /media/disk1
LordLimecatSpee_Der: it has to be done as comp boots, i can see if i can find out what key you press
bruenigyou mount devices to mount points, you don't mount mount points, maybe fstab and mount are sophisticated enough to correct "mount /mount/point" but by default that should not work
Spee_DerIt's F-10. Normally.
Hello Lord. And thanks.
reepDesmaano: ok, sudo chown $USER /media/disk1
birdmunbruenig, my bad
Spee_DerI need to aquire the setup disk unfortunately.
nominneilthereildeil: I'm using dapper and I have the option to install jdk5 right now.
LordLimecatspee_der: try f10 as computer boots
reepDesmaano: echo test >/media/disk1/test
LordLimecatother keys to try are f1, del, f12, and tab (this may bring up the boot process, which can show the proper key)
vbabiy_hey guys where can i get nvida drivers
Desmaanoreep: no echo ?
bruenig!ati | vbabiy
ubotuvbabiy: To install the Ati/NVidia drivers for your video card, see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BinaryDriverHowto
don_jr__shane634 the entire xorg.conf file is now in the private message tab! =)
Spee_DerLordLimecat, F-10 not working as the previous owner re-formatted the HD and that partition does not exist. I need to locate a start-up disk somehow.
vbabiy_thanks
LordLimecatah
birdmunfrom what i just read on a forum F10 is the key as long as the proper partition is on the hard drive
