NY Lost Funds

Peloorehon, give me a few minutes
wirelessor, specifically, how can I set my wireless up to be an access point?
wastrelScunizi: only jpg's are deleted, other files are left alone
Scuniziwastrel: I mean... rm -rf *.jpg
orehonPelo ok... i am searching here also!
wastrelScunizi: it works with whitespace
peepsalotScunizi, i think rm -rf basically means to match the given pattern, *then* recurse from whatever matches
FlanneleXcaliBuR: why not ssh?
harryIf I put my hard drive in an external casing, can I boot from it on another computer?
i.e. plugged in from a usb?
Scuniziwastrel: so maybe rm -rf "*jpg"?
wirelessrm -rf matches first on the command line, then recurses after
spaces shouldn't matter
eXcAliBuR$ mv boxes /var/www/includes
mv: cannot move `boxes' to a subdirectory of itself, `/var/www/includes/boxes'
wastrelcase sensitive
eXcAliBuRwhats wrong
i want to replace my boxes folder
Scuniziwastrel: ok... one more thing I learned today..
eXcAliBuRblah i'll just delete the old one first
wit my new rm -r command
wirelesseXistenZ: type pwd
preactionrm -rf *.jpg will recurse into directories that match *.jpg. the * is expanded by bash
peepsalotwastrel, i understand everything in your original command, except what is the "/;" at the end for?
preactionyou probably want: find -name *.jpg -delete
wastrelpeepsalot: that terminates the argument list for the -execdir flag
wirelessprg3: should that be find -name "*.jpg" -delete ?
wastrel-delete eh
Scunizipreaction: looks good to me... there's more than one way to skin an Ubuntu
tbussI keep getting an warning whenever I update, upgrade or install new software: dpkg: serious warning: files list file for package `proftpd' missing, assuming package has no files currently installed.
orehonPelo: Did you find anything?
wastrelthat's easier isn't it
Peloorehon, not yet
peepsalotah, good one preaction, another useful paramter to remember. oh, and I would use -iname ;-)
preactionwireless: try it first without the -delete part?
orehonPelo: kk
