jrandolphi'm still having problems with getting ati drivers to work... i have followed a lot of different sets of instructions, and they all seem to get me to the same place. whats the next step of support? going to the ubuntu forums and work on it with other people over the course of a few days? is there something faster/easier i can try before that?
hendaus__jrib, ok thanx
Qlippothwhat exactly is xorg.conf? im reading the part about installing ati drivers and im kind of lost
jribdimeotane: change the permissions using chmod/chown
!permissions | dimeotane
ubotudimeotane: The files and directories on an Ubuntu system are organized according to a standard, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Filesystem_Hierarchy_Standard - file permissions are explained at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/FilePermissions - All filenames and directory names (and many other things) are case sensitive in Linux
bruenigdimeotane, what is it formatted as, the usb drive that is
eckQlippoth: it's the file that the X server (the thing that provides you with a graphical interface) uses to read its configuration settings
