ubmJordan_U did you recently change the configuration?
CyberCodcolbert, i think its to do with the theme color.... they're system wide
jackson3246"whereis ri" does not return "/usr/local/bin/ri", but when I $ri, it returns "/usr/local/bin/ri: No such file or directory" any ideas why?
Jordan_Uubm: Yes, Dual boot OSx, which is nice because I can use OSx no matter how screwed up the MBR gets :)
ubm: No.
gavintlgoldyou need to do a little bit of code.... colbert .. unless you want to change the system theme
pontus99anyone know where I can get the disk mounter applet?
erikakrOmagnon: serious multitracking takes a low latency kernel. It looks like Ubuntu Studio will have that... and it includes Ardour and several promising digital drummers, synths, etc.
CyberCodcolbert, change the theme, see if it impacts that
colbertIt's just that I have a black wallpaper, want to make the panels transparent but keep the text white you know
CyberCodcolbert, you know how to change the theme?
timfrosttarelerulz: is the disk reported by lsusb?
ubmJordan_U when did you first start experiencing this issue before or after you installed OSx?
gavintlgoldcolbert: here's a howto if you want to follow it. If you know html color codes it helps : http://brentroos.com/2006/07/07/change-gnome-panel-text-color/
Jordan_Utarelerulz: Does it show up in lsusb?
colbertOk I will try it
gavintlgoldcolbert: but that's the geeky way
colberthehe
jackson3246alternatively, colbert: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=2024839
CyberCodgavintlgold, nothing wrong with geeky :)
Jordan_Uubm: Long after, this is a real mac ( not hacked OSx ) and I have had Linux installed for months.
pontus99does anyone know where I can get the disk-mount applet?
ubmJordan_U if you can read the disk can you paste the grub configuration somewhere for us to read.
gavintlgoldcybercod: i know, just means it's harder ;)
tarelerulzsomething shows up when I do lsusb ,but I don't know which one is the hard drive
erikaJordan_U: you're using a PPC?
ubmJordan_U you can reinstall the bootloader by booting into live
benn92649ok gravemind you rule!
kr0magnonerika: ok i'm going to check out ubuntu studio. thanks.
colbertAlso I am running avant-window-navigator from terminal, can I close the terminal and leave a program running somehow ? It always closes when I close terminal
Jordan_Uerika: No, intel ( PPC uses Yaboot, not GRUB )
benn92649now to try and install the plug in for flash LOL
Jordan_Uubm: Tried that already, didn't change anything
erikakrOmagnon: y/w :)
Tidgehi all i was just wondering if i could install ubuntu on my parents machine.. its pretty ancient, i think its got an 8GB HDD, 1Ghz processor, 128mb ram... lol its pretty sucky, it was around the time on win 98
gavintlgoldcolbert: do alt-f2 and type it in
jmworxtritium_: Any news about the Speex update on Dapper 64?
jribcolbert: either run it with nohup, or run it in a screen session, or disown it
jackson3246Tidge: yep. you may want to use Xubuntu, though
