morrolanprem, that's OK, your system has lost it's hostname
premso wht should i do?
StoneNotemorrolan, I hear a group headed by the Dred Pirate Peer is stealing hostname's.
morrolanprem - I'm working on it
StoneNote - well fair enough, but that isn't going to reset it on his computer unless he has been compromised is it?
aCeNoSweeti have 1 leg,
mweI'd use the same windows license for a new machine. I doubt MS could do anything about it even if their EULA says otherwise if you only use it on one machine
arrenlexmwe: You have to activate them.
soundraymwe: the problem is, it's not easy to get a new machine without a new Windows license
mwearrenlex: yes
grndslmi have a VERY serious problem...pretty sure my swap space got too full, so I had to restart without properly shutting down....and now on bootup, it complains about being unable to resolve UUID=fba54......, and when i go to the /dev folder...I can see every partition except for hdc4, which is my home dir
a5benwillisI changed my clock setting on my server, now when I run SUDO i get an error "sudo: timestamp to far in the future". WHAT CAN I DO??
gOLdenHaWK3Dprem: just type sudo hostname <hostname> in terminal
arrenlexmwe: So if you keep using the same license, they'll reject activation at some point.
morrolanprem - ok, please type: cat /etc/hosts and tell me what it says. Just the top few lines
gOLdenHaWK3Dprem: set hostname to whatever you wish
hdxxa5benwillis: you change your local time?
Picia5benwillis: sudo -k
morrolanprem - or do what gOLdenHaW3D said!
grndslmhow do i mount something that doesn't exist in /dev? or did i really delete my whole home dir?
mwearrenlex: at some point maybe. I once illegally installed with the same key on 5 machines, though. I wouldn't do it again and it was a temporary solution.
a5benwillishdxx: Yes
Pici: That didnt do anyhting
NallemanHi, im having problem with my firefox plugin for mplayer. When im trying to watch streaming video the plugin just goes "stopped". help please
morrolanprem - beware of spaces and other strange characters
hdxxa5benwillis: in that case i just restart x
mwearrenlex: I mean if I buy a new PC after two years I'm pretty sure I could activate again
premam gettin bash: syntax error near unexpected token `newline'
a5benwillisoh ok
hsmhi
Picia5benwillis: sudo -k invalidates the timestamp, next time you run sudo it should work
soundraya5benwillis: try 'sudo -K' then
gOLdenHaWK3Dprem: what hostname are you setting?
wolfeySINalleman: perhaps you need win32 codecs ?
fiXXXerMetAny chance of getting a dovecot-sieve package?
StoneNotemorrolan, I've played with hostname a bit. he could accidently reset it using a command, but to permanently reset it, he'd have to alter the /etc/hostname file OR have made the change using network-admin after entering his root password
mwearrenlex: maybe that will change, though. don't know
premprem12
morrolangrndslm - have you tried installing gparted to look for the partition?
a5benwillisPici: That worked but I still get the error
