ronartosi just want to send e-mail outside our local mail server with same domain name. (un1.com)
ok
thx
anyone other who can help?
hammkecould anyone help me with a "could not create Java virtual machine" error
hello
benJImanhammke: what version of suse are you using, and where did you get the java packages from?
hammke10.2, got the java packages from the install software program
benJImanok, does java work if you don't go messing about with java home?
java -version
hammke5/1.5
update8
benJImanIt has to create the virtual machine to do java -version
so looks like it's working.
hammkeim not sure if java works otherwise, how can i test it
if i type java -version it works
benJImanhammke: echo 'public class JTest { public static void main(String... args) {System.out.println("It works");}}' > ./JTest.java && javac ./JTest.java && java JTest
hammkeit worked
thanks for helpin btw, I appreciate it
benJImanhammke: then there's nothing wrong with your java
thor^althoho :)
hammkemust be something specific to nutch then
i think i may have found the problem, but i ran into a simple linux question...
i need to run the file usr/share/tomcat5/bin/catalina.sh from the nutch directory but when i do it says root/usr/share/tomcat5/bin/catalina.sh file does not exist... it adds the root dir to it
_Dada_sh /usr/share/tomcat5/bin/catalina.sh
hammkejust add the sh in front, then run that command
jervineinteresting, normally tomcat would be started from an init script - unless this is a manually installed copy of tomcat?
_Dada_you forget first /
hammkethe exact command i type is
sh /usr/share/tomcat5/bin/catalina.sh?
_Dada_try
hammkesorry
sh /usr/share/tomcat5/bin/catalina.sh start
_Dada_/usr/share/tomcat5/bin/catalina.sh start should do it too
hammkeadding the sh and / worked
but... it outputted "Using JAVA_HOME: /usr/lib/jvm/java" which is wrong
how do i fix that?
