M3phistopl3ssticking paper on a cd or dcvd is like sticking a video tape in a audio tape player. it put's the tolerance's out and so there fore the dampers don't work as well and you could drive the dirve and/or disc
it can cause skipping or just make the disc not play at all
aeroevanderrley: and same error both times?
derrleyright
it was working fine before I decided to be an idiot and try to use the binary instead of the one I compiled
it's just annoying -- every time they push a kernel update you have to recompile
jim_chatM3phistopl3s: I've never had that problem.
derrleyso I wanted to try to get it to sync w/ the distributed binaries
multiplexhey, anyone in here have experience with apache?
microchip_derrley: did it compile?
M3phistopl3sjim_chat, your lucky then
derrleyeveryone in here probably has experience with apache
microchip_: yeah
microchip_derrley: try to uninsqtall it........ nvidia-installer --uninstall
then reinstall
multiplexalright, what abount apache with wikis and/or permissions
derrleymicrochip_: I did that. Is there any way I can purge everything that installing the RPM did AND everything that the nvidia installer did ?
microchip_derrley: you messed things up, if RPM is still installed, then uninstall it......... rpm -e <package>
sjonesmultiplex, how about asking your actual question? That way we don't have to guess what you're looking for.
multiplexI installed "mediawiki" through yast, read the manual and every other associated doc, installed PHP, mysql, php_mod for apache (apche2 btw) etc, but when I try to access the mediawiki dir in /srv/www/htdocs , it says that I don't have read permission. I even gave it 777 -R with no luck
by going "http://localhost/wiki" , not simply reading it in general
derrleymicrochip_: okay, they're gone
multiplexI have been looking through tons of apache conf files trying to figure it out but it's all so....broad :P
derrleyI can atleast get in with the nv module now, it seems
sjonesmultiplex, I don't know about mediawiki, but I do know that a recursive chmod 777 will generally screw things up.
multiplexheh, well I honestly tried almost every other combo
microchip_derrley: also uninstall the other one with nvidia-installer --uninstall......... then reinstall the driver (not from RPM)
multiplex222, 220, 666, 660 etc.
sjonesnow you have every single file in that directory set as executable
multiplexYeah I know but I was desperate at that point :P
and the apache error_log in /var is very.....vague?
derrleymicrochip_: Do people usually have problems with the RPM ?
microchip_derrley: i dont know, i always use the driver from the NV site
derrleymicrochip_: in the past I have as well
microchip_derrley: i have to as i run custom kernels
multiplexhmmm, maybe there is a good tutorial on the net for running mediawiki with suse and apache2?
sjonesmultiplex, first, fix the permissions. rpm --setperms mediawiki
multiplexI fixed them to 222
I've honestly been troubleshooting this for hours, and I haven't even started on the wiki yet :P
brianwfor i in `cat test-ip`;do echo "$i `dig +short -x $i`";done
