ecarlclhi folks, I'm thinking about switching from gentoo to opensuse and I have a quick question for you, can you install on a software raid array?
actionBob-Lv isnt 100% sure but believes he saw that the last time he installed suse
Bob-Lvisnt 100% sure but believes he saw that the last time he installed suse
RickyRayyecarlcl, i asked someone that before and the asnwer i got was that it was better to setup the software raid after linux is installed
Bob-Lvits a custom partition setup in the installer

RickyRayyhow long does it take for 'synchronizing with ZENworks' after adding repo's?

one of my friends was all over me to try ubuntu, which got me thinking about binary based distros and I'd rather save ubuntu for a last resort
RickyRayyoh yes it's good
kkathmanubuntu is great for newbs
ecarlclRickyRayy: I'm getting kind of tired of trying to use gentoo for a desktop, as a server it rules, Seems to me that opensuse has way better maintained docs and such, plus it looks like you can just drop it in and it'll run
kkathmanbut you soon find out its very non performant
ecarlclkkathman: I agree
kkathmanits very bloated and very slow and non responsive
RickyRayycool
ecarlclkkathman: thats what ive been hearing
kkathmanits like a child, where SUSE is more like the parent
ecarlclwith opensuse, is it easy to graft in your own kernels and stuff like that?
matdrodeskkathman: something else? :)
kkathmanmatdrodes: ??
