rikanferalI am trying to persuade page.visual_effect(:highlight) to target a div with an id that matches a preset variable. How can I do this?
I have tried (:highlight, @item.id), but it doesn't work (even where (:highlight, "4") or similar does
anieropage[@item.id].visual_effect :highlight
macographerisn't it possible to specify the controller when diong a render?
from a controller..
rikanferalaniero: Thank you!
macographeractually..
it's missing the template..
ok, i think what i need to do is specify where the template is for the action.. because it's not looking in the other controller's page..
i dont' see anything in the API about specifying a template..
hrm..
this is unfortunate.
robert_dempseygood evening all
macographerevenin'
why doesn't this render (...) function use the template in the controller of the action that i'm rendering?
mike4263how do you get the first letter of a string?
macographerit keeps looking for the template in the directory of the controller the action doing the rendering instead of the controller of the action i'm rendering..
scarabatworkhello, all. i'm attempting to setup apache to deliver ror content. my setup looks like: http://pastie.caboo.se/55215 I'm getting a 404 error when i try to access it
mike4263i'm doing it in a model, so truncate isnt working
macographermike4263: "string".first #=> "s"
scarabatworkany clues?
mike4263thank you macographer, it wasnt in the book
macographernp
remember strings are basically arrays of characters
dagbrownUh
Supposing you have a rails app that runs on mobile browsers which don't support cookies
macographerso "string"[0] #=> 115
dagbrownHow would you handle sessions?
aztawhats the modern rails way to generate rss/atom feeds?
don-odagbrown: rails modifies each href and adds a cookie parameter to the url
dagbrowndon-o: How do you tell it to do that?
don-odagbrown: im not sure. it might even happen automatically.
dagbrownIt certainly doesn't happen automatically.
don-odagbrown: ive never used rails in a non-cookie environment :)
macographerif i have a remote_form_for() that is not submitting, can anyone suggest a way for me to figure out what's wrong?
oh.. maybe it's the url..
don-omacographer: look at the javascript console from your browser
macographerwell, i have firebug, but it doesn't show any errors.
actually, i feel kind of dumb, i just looked at the form, and i don't have a url specified anywhere.. i was just looking at the API to see if i could figure out where to put it.
aztaanyone know what the modern rails way to generate rss/atom feeds is?
