|rikanferal||I am trying to persuade page.visual_effect(:highlight) to target a div with an id that matches a preset variable. How can I do this?|
I have tried (:highlight, @item.id), but it doesn't work (even where (:highlight, "4") or similar does
|macographer||isn't it possible to specify the controller when diong a render?|
from a controller..
|rikanferal||aniero: Thank you!|
it's missing the template..
ok, i think what i need to do is specify where the template is for the action.. because it's not looking in the other controller's page..
i dont' see anything in the API about specifying a template..
this is unfortunate.
|robert_dempsey||good evening all|
why doesn't this render (...) function use the template in the controller of the action that i'm rendering?
|mike4263||how do you get the first letter of a string?|
|macographer||it keeps looking for the template in the directory of the controller the action doing the rendering instead of the controller of the action i'm rendering..|
|scarabatwork||hello, all. i'm attempting to setup apache to deliver ror content. my setup looks like: http://pastie.caboo.se/55215 I'm getting a 404 error when i try to access it|
|mike4263||i'm doing it in a model, so truncate isnt working|
|macographer||mike4263: "string".first #=> "s"|
|mike4263||thank you macographer, it wasnt in the book|
remember strings are basically arrays of characters
Supposing you have a rails app that runs on mobile browsers which don't support cookies
|macographer||so "string" #=> 115|
|dagbrown||How would you handle sessions?|
|azta||whats the modern rails way to generate rss/atom feeds?|
|don-o||dagbrown: rails modifies each href and adds a cookie parameter to the url|
|dagbrown||don-o: How do you tell it to do that?|
|don-o||dagbrown: im not sure. it might even happen automatically.|
|dagbrown||It certainly doesn't happen automatically.|
|don-o||dagbrown: ive never used rails in a non-cookie environment :)|
|macographer||if i have a remote_form_for() that is not submitting, can anyone suggest a way for me to figure out what's wrong?|
oh.. maybe it's the url..
|macographer||well, i have firebug, but it doesn't show any errors.|
actually, i feel kind of dumb, i just looked at the form, and i don't have a url specified anywhere.. i was just looking at the API to see if i could figure out where to put it.
|azta||anyone know what the modern rails way to generate rss/atom feeds is?|
