peterm66I am running the latest version (0.7.2) of rake
koppenpeterm66: sounds like you need the latest version of gem as well
Arsen7ErikR: maybe temporarily save to a file, parse, and then delete. Maybe ParseExcel can parse from stream, or string?
R_Suhi all, can any one help me with rails' session cookies? is it possible to make the session cookies persisit? i.e. the session cookies remains after the user close the browser...
peterm66thanks Kappen, that solved it, also had to clear the codecache.
Xifanyone has any experience expiring pages from script/runner?
BobFunkR_Su if the user persists after the user close the browser it's no longer a session cookie
*the cookie persists
R_Suok i see... then is it possible to make rails store the session identifier inside a persisit cookies...
GarethAdamswhat information are you trying to persist?
R_Sujust the session id, all i wanted is to provide a "Remeber Me" function the user.. ;p
GarethAdamsso
what you really want to remember is the user_id
R_Suok i see, so i shoud store the user_id in another cookies
pythonicno
GarethAdamsyes and no
yes, store something
BobFunkkindof
GarethAdamsno, not the user_id
pythonicanyone could make their own cookies with any user_id
R_Suif i store the user_id somebody else will able to send a fake user_id and hack my site :p
GarethAdamszactly
R_Suso store a long md5 string wil be good enough?
GarethAdamsthe usual solution is to generate a unique string as a "remember_key" and store it in the users table
yes
R_Suok i see, THX :D
thanks all
kainreally I don't see the point of a remember me functionality
but that's another story
koppenkain: you apparently only have users with a brain, not all of us are that lucky ;)
kainwell
I'm developing a website accessible for all
but I don't want to include such functionality
primarly for security
when you come back home you have to open that door
it's not already opened
if the user won't really bother he memorizes it's username and password
so if someone breaches it's not my fault
espcieally when account can deal with stored credit cards
pythonicpeople can use single-sign-on software that remembers their passwords anyway
