| ilium007 | hi guys |

| fearoffish | traps it in his fly mmkay, maybe you meant the ram |
| sgrover | (turned out the motherboard I had was flakey with 2 mem sticks, caused a crash. Then I found out I had set up my ext3 filesystem properly, but had forgotten to enable ext3 in the kernel, so only had ext2 support - so no journals, no way to recover drive.. :( LOL ) |
| lisa | sgrover: wtg |
| fearoffish | sgrover: haha |
| sgrover | (Murphy's Law is very alive and well around here.) |
| ilium007 | can someone tell me why textmate has all of a sudden stopped putting the <%= %> in when I press CTRL-Z |
| lisa | no i think that's straight up PEBCAK |
| fearoffish | illuminum: the update changed the key combo oh wait |
| ilium007 | fearoffish: oh - do you know what it si now ?? |
| fearoffish | illuminum: just check in the bundles menu under rails |
| sgrover | lisa: normally I would agree with you. But to see a hardware failure when just adding (approved) memory isn't really expected.. :) |
| ilium007 | fearoffish: can't see it there anywhere fmay be it is in the html bundle ?? |
| fearoffish | illuminum: no rails bundle? |
| ilium007 | fearoffish: found it - it is in the ruby bundle and is now CTRL > thanks for the pointer it was driving e insane ! |
| sgrover | (nother gentooism for me - don't force the removal of Python. was trying to upgrade python. Blocked by an earlier version. So of course, an emerge -c python, then emerge python should do the trick. except that whn you remove python, emerge no longer works... |
| fearoffish | hah Why is xorg in the USE flags, and recommened that I keep it there? |
| lisa | fearoffish: huh? |
| sgrover | dependancy on something. |
| fearoffish | lisa: it's in the general use flags |
| lisa | fearoffish: what profile are you using? |
| fearoffish | I have no idea |
| lisa | fearoffish: that's your problem |
| fearoffish | hehe maybe solution? |
| sgrover | more to the point something depends on it. do a emerge world -Dpvt and look for xorg in the reported flags |
| fearoffish | and if you say re-install, I'll hunt you down sgrover: I've already removed it and recompiled the entire system |
| Arsen7 | $ ls -l /etc/make.profile |
| ilium007 | I am getting ready to write my first full on rails web application. There is one thing scaring the hell out of me ! |
| sgrover | No mention of xorg in ANYTHING? And you have -xorg in make.conf? |
| ilium007 | I need to find the distances between location here in Australia |
