nandovieirachapel: something like this? response = Net::HTTP.get(URI(url))
zapnaparooni: not that i'm aware of (i'm implementing the same sort of thing, roughly).. i'm sure there are standard texts on ecom that deal with this though
arooni: if you dig one up please do let me know :)
chapelwhat are you trying to do nandovieira
zapnaparooni: activemerchant is great, but it is just an interface to payment processing afaik
(someone correct me if i'm wrong)
chapelwell awd's main focus project is about a shopping cart and deals with money
nandovieirachapel: i want to get a XML from a website (other domain)
chapelzapnap: youre right
RodGoplease can anybody help me?
chapelrodgo, are you developing on your personal computer?
RodGoyes but now i want to install a script on my server
a rails app
zapnapin a lot of 'shopping cart' scenarios you won't have to deal with keeping account balances per se. just history of transactions. you'll just want to keep a shopping cart with a running balance.
RodGoi bealive they are using apache
and they only provide me this information
ROR - Ruby on Rails. Here are the paths: /usr/bin/ruby /usr/lib/ruby
Version: Rails 1.1.2
chapelwell
you know where your public dir is
RodGoyes
its /www/
chapelhmm
have you contacted their support?
RodGoyes in fact 3 times
the first one they told me this
ROR - Ruby on Rails. Here are the paths: /usr/bin/ruby /usr/lib/ruby
Version: Rails 1.1.2
chapelwhat is the company called?
RodGoservage.net
and the second thime when i asked for more information on how to use rails
they told me this:
Please go through the RoR documentation regarding this. We have already RoR installed on our clusters.
Thank you!
so i searched for doc, but i have no idea on how to make it work on this server
chapelhaha
well without shell access i wouldnt say its impossible
but its obvious you cannot follow the convention of rails
RodGouhm.. but any idea on how this may work?
jaketRodGo: perhaps they have some kind of installer
