entiei want to store a small hash in a cookie. yaml doens't work because quotes in the yaml data structure break the cookie parsing. do people use marshal or something else?
jeremydurhamentie: does json work?
entiei don't know
lemme see
it looks like json uses quotes too, so i'd be surprised
railsgrunthey. any reason why my app dont understand <%GMap.header%>
jeremydurhamWe use a base64 encoded, json string :) :(
entiegoogle seems to use a key=value:key=value style
railsgrunti have ym4r installed, it works on my localhost,
but not on my server
sheldonhentie: use base64-encoded yaml
entiealright
lemme try that out
coder2000jeremydurham: I fixed it by altering the username to what it was changed to with another test which shouldn't be correct.
jeremydurhamcoder2000: is your test table myisam?
coder2000: well first off, is this mysql? :)
coder2000yes its mysql
jeremydurhamcheck if your test database has myisam tables
because they don't support rollback
so then it would be normal
coder2000ok. so then that breaks proper functionality of the test framework.
making it useless
and I can't be certain that migrations will create innodb tables
djsmacedowhen use latin chars appears strange symbols in db?
like: Feijo
ops...
coder2000djsmacedo: your database probably doesn't support unicode
djsmacedolike: Feij o
the collation is utf8_general_ci
externally appears ok, but in db is stored w/ strange codes
it's normal?
coder2000ok if you retrieve it and its normal then I wouldn't worry
djsmacedook
coder2000if your viewing your database with phpmyadmin or something then their unicode support doesn't work
