jackyyll1lol
i already hardcoded it
and it works now :p
thanks :p
hope everything still works *crosses fingers*
rikkusHi
jackyyll1Worked like a charm :) Thanks _dav
_davron, your using require 'RMagick' right? it's case sensitive on some OSes
jackyyll1: np, good luck
rikkusNewbie question: The main page of my site says something like 'Tracking <%= @stations.length %> stations' ... @stations comes from Station#index. My main page really shouldn't be in app/views/station, though - it will pull info from many sources. What's the canonical way to do that? Should I just make a new controller which does @stations = Station.find(:all) in its index method?
matt1982how can you tell if rails is using fastcgi or not? sorry i just followed a mediatemple tutorial on getting rails to work but it doesn't work
Ron_dav: yup.
matt1982just trying to fix the mess i followed:(
Ron_dav: i added require 'rubygems' just before the require 'RMagick'.
and now it works
_davoh, yeah, that's necessary :)
Roni thought it was automatic =)
where should i put it though? its kinda in the middle now. enviroment.rb or something?
_davhmm good point, in rails i think it is automatic
like, rails is a gem
where is it now?
Ron_dav: just stuffed in the code for the file_column plugin. This is where the require 'RMagick' is
but obviously its not automatic in my case..
someoneouttherephp is good. but ruby is great
dionysianman.. ruby on rails is pretty sweet
someoneoutthereyea it is
lol
_davoh, aplugin
not sure, in a plugin i think you'll want to put it in init.rb
someoneouttherebut I think they shouldn't allow constants to be changed
yakkophi, I've got a rails app server, and need to create j2me client -- anyone aware of any rails like j2me frameworks?
dionysiani started learning it a week ago... i have no previous web development experience and no real development experience to speak of at all (my proudest moment was creating a marginal hunt the wumpus)
_davi guess plugins don't get the require 'rubygems' from rails, although that surprises me
someoneouttheredionysian: kool
dionysianand i've already written an app that allows you to sign in and post a news article that's displayed on the home page
someoneouttheredionysian: I mean go on, learn it
jstewthats a great feeling isnt it dionysian
dionysianjstew: yes it is!
jstewyou did this with java, correct?
_davrails-like j2me? that's crazy talk
