ChouserI have several <input ... name="photos[description]">. So what am I supposed to do in my controller?
dink_whats the best pratice for login generation now
is the salted has still a no no
acts_as_authenticated was hip for a while.. and login_generator bork3d under rails 1.2
hedacan anyone hook me up with an answer / article on models in subdirectories of /models ?
dink_umm.. heda why are you doing subdirectories of models
why not say a certain model :has_one or has_many
of anotherm odel
*model
hedai have a ton of models
dink_are you talking about subdomains
hedano i have a ton of models and need / want to organise them better
dink_i do rails professionally for a medical corp.. and I dont run into that issue
yeah.. i would look into ownership models
there are enough relation paterns now to not need to re invent rails
hedaso rails doesn't do it that way basically ?
dink_its by logical order, not by literal file names
mferrierheda: you could make it work, take a look at the initializer in railties
dink_i could make it work however you want
to stick to something that is a little cleaner
it sounds like a simple adjustment in your design could drop a lot of complexity
heda: are you intergrating into something legacy
or is this all new code?
if its all new, then i would highly consider making sure your design makes sense. However if you must support legacy, then good luck
hedaits all new code - i just wondered if there way a way to logically seperate models relating to one area from another
dink_sure
you make want to take another look at routes
RubyPantherdink_: AAA if it does what you need, and ActiveAcl if you need something heavyweight
Chouserdoes anyone know of an example somewhere of a form for editing several items in a has_many, all on the same form?
dink_rubypanther, thanks
hedayeah it sounds like i'd be running myself into problems when i don't need to, i'm only doing it for my own sense of what belongs together with what
dink_rubypanther: so pay no attention to login sugar, login salt, etc
zorglu_q. i got a select_tag, and i would like the form to be submited as soon as i selected the element, without having to click on a submit button, where should i look ?
RubyPantherdink_: right
dink_there is a lot of noise out there then now
because I built one project with login_generator
when login_generator was hip
and its bit me in the arse pretty hard now
infact im looking to migrate off of it
RubyPantherzorglu_: mozilla.org has a good developer site with the javascript into for that... in this case it's onchange=... that you need to set
