|ben_h||Ashims: ok, how about this|
|Ashims||which is indeed-- lacking.|
|ben_h||foo = Kernel; foo.rand #=> 0.1232355346|
how is Kernel not an object
|tim^||Ashims, when you say 'classes aren't objects', what do you mean by classes?|
|Ashims||tim^ a class is the structural representation of an object.|
a class becomes an object.
|tim^||yeah i think that's different to what the other guys thought you meant :)|
|Ashims||I know :)|
|ReinH||Ashims: feel free to take this to #ruby-lang with me if you'd like :)|
|Ashims||I'm there... cant wait to get beat up on.|
|ReinH||Ashims: a class is a structural representation of an object, yes. But it is ALSO an object|
|Ashims||in ruby there is a class object that contains the structural representaiton|
I think-- at least from what you're saying
|MID-Cloud||Hi! I have a big problem with getting WEBrick find gems, in the script I've made to start the server it finds gems ok (ie: require 'rubygems' works fine). Then if in a .cgi script i do the same (require 'rubygems') it complains saying that there is no such file to load, any clue? (note: I'm on MACOSX, and compiled the latest ruby)|
|ReinH||MID-Cloud: you require 'rubygems' in a .cgi script? WHY?|
|MID-Cloud||uhm, sorry, I solved this ;)|
I mean not gay, it has "Issues"
|MID-Cloud||I was dogin #!/usr/bin/env ruby instead of #!/path/to/my/local/ruby ;)|
|Ashims||yay! AnakinKain is back!|

|pluesch0r||is there a sane way to get acts_as_paranoid to work when the paranoid model is associated via has_many and database foreign keys are used?|
without editing the plugin itself, that is?
|e9reen||any body with typo deployment experience ?? my dispatch.cgi is giving errors|
|pluesch0r||unless i use :dependent => :destroy_all on the has_many definition and comment the aliasing of delete_all in the plugin itself (and of course also comment the def delete_all), all tests fail. :)|
|Dreamer3||so what's the best way to capture forum= and forum_id=|
alias method chain?
