ReinHI might even participate
I know a bit about the topic
BigFischDreamer3: That's what I thought - so I'm pretty much stuck to getting a 30" :)
ReinHBut I can at least refer you guys to the /topic at #web here in freenode
BigFisch: poor you
ypSamiReinH: No thank you. I've spent the past 2 years fighting that battle against all kinds of HTML wannabes that can't wrap their head around a scope larger than a website.
ReinH: In the professional sector, even
BigFischypSami: You sound mean.
mitsuhikoypSami: that has nothing to do with html wannabe or whatever. for the moment valid html4 works better than valid xhtml1
ypSamiReinH: Now, I realize that my knowledge of XHTML gives me a competitive advantage, and if others give me any friction on the matter, I don't need to argue it out, because I know from 7 years of practical experience what is what.
zachinglisypSami: What is your leading edge company?
ReinHypSami: understood, but understand that the XHTML implementations in user agents well... SUCKS.
And most people use XHTML improperly
hell, even rails does

ypSamisee you guys later
ReinHFor many applications HTML is sufficient and XHTML raises more problems than it solves. This is less true recently with, say, theuse of microformats and their need for well-formed XHTML
Dreamer3BigFisch: i'll look for you here
ReinHDreamer3: sounds good to me
mitsuhikoReinH: with problem with xhtml is that it does not solve the problems it should
lisaif you don't know what the benefits of XHTML are you should be using HTML 4.01 Strict
