fjshbut the data in the table is encoded in ISO-8859-1 for some reason
well both the database and the table is the same (utf8) encoding I think
will check
vrinek502i added encoding: utf8 in the database.yml and create_table :people, :options => 'default charset=utf8' do |t| in the migration
fjshyes I have that in my database.yml-file too
and I'm 99% sure the database uses utf8 too
vrinek502add the :option too, thats when my problems got solved
fjsh:option? where?
vrinek502in the migration file
the one that creates your table
fjshok, but I really don't think the problem lies in the configuration files
vrinek502create_table :people, :options => 'default charset=utf8' do |t|
fjshyou see I have some utf8-encoded data in the table too and that data shows up fine
vrinek502just give it a try
zorglu_vrinek502: please dont add the bold when you are typnig
vrinek502zorglu_: sorry
zorglu_: can i underline/italic some text then?
fjshbut like I said, I'm 99% sure the database uses utf8 and I know the table already does.. it's just that some of the data in the table is _not_ utf8
zorglu_vrinek502: well it is to avoid, it is not necessary to make people understand when you mean, and avoid attracting the attention for people who dont read it
rellik_if I have a shared partial in shared/_foo.rhtml, can I write a SharedHelper, or do you have to have a controller to do that?

lonnyHey folks, I have an issue. Anybody know what tools I can use (Windows environment) to tell what applications are using network resources (sending/receiving)?? Something hidden seems to be accessing my network, and I don't like that. I have already done a virus scan.
_thom_do you have ServiceCapture ?
many people use that to debug their AJAX / RIAs
lonny_thom_: Was that addressed to me?
