|JasonKing||This is the one downside with something as dynamic as rails - when something goes wrong in one of these generated methods - it's a bitch to track down.|
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Fixed it.
color_url starts with the called URL, whatever that is. So that works in create because the called URL happens to be the list URL. To explicitly get the list URL you need colors_url - plural.
It's such a fine line between clever and stupid.
|Ashims||is there a convenient way to print an array to screen-- like php's print_r?|
|perett||hi, newb here. i have problems installing fastthread|
it says: ERROR: Failed to build gem native extension.
what could be missing?
|Ashims||12 drinks... that usually how long it takes me to figure out the problem ;)|
meanwhile... I reeeeealy need to know the structure of this array... anyone? *goes for another drink*
|perett||most people are probably asleep|

|zoidy||Any freelance rails developers available for hire around?|
|Palish||depends on the project.|
|Ashims||*nods* not a rails dev quite yet... but getting that way :)|
Whats the project? ^_^
|zoidy||it's a Google clone, should be fairly simple, right? :)|
|Ashims||tehehehehe. Its a 3d operating system. should be fairly simple, right? ^_^'|
|zoidy||seriously, it's a fairly simple project, I just need someone with some real experience with Rails, if anyone is available pm me|
|Ashims||as in... just a website that outputs search stuff from some sort of database. Or building a metacrawler, configuring a server farm etc. etc.etc.|
|zoidy||it's not really a Google clone Ashims, I was just kidding, it has nothing to do with search|
|Ashims||;) you're playing with my saturday night head aren't you ;).|
|Ashims||as I say, I'm not yet up to speed on rails... I do alot of PHP/ASP.Net work currently-- learning rails for my own projects. You should wait a couple of hours until the americans get in.|
|zoidy||Yeah I used to do a lot of PHP myself, then I went to Rails, now I can't really do it all by myself but I know for sure I'm not getting back to PHP|
I need someone that knows SQL to help me out
|Ashims||Palish *raises hand*|
|Palish||I have a table of sections, which has classroom_id. I have a table of student_entries, which links user_id and section_id|
|Ashims||*wants to contribute to the #rubyonrails community*|
|Palish||The goal is to say "Does this user have a student entry in the classroom with this classroom_id" in one SQL statement|
so I'm sort of stuck at the first step
SELEC T * FROM student_entries WHERE...
|Ashims||1sec... typing now|
