notjohn^Migs^: from what i can tell after updating a page...replacing html inside a div, all styles aren't updated
^Migs^yeah, they wouldn't be
theRemixnakawire: hopefully i'll get somewhere with capistrano... 2 weeks defunct is too long to believe something is even supposed to ever work
notjohni'm using jquery
nakawiretheRemix: http://wiki.slicehost.com/doku.php?id=automated_rails_install_and_deployment_with_deprec_capistrano
^Migs^unless the styles were inside the div, but that's a dumb idea
well, no. I think it's because the styles get cached.

Skizstyles should be applied if they are applicable to the area
notjohnya... i think if you include styles inside the returned code it would reapply them
shafireanyone use sqlite3? (performance?)
^Migs^what's a good place I can go to to learn RoR? I'm a total noob.
hard to believe, I know
notjohncolumn widths in my table change
Skizshafire: nice for quick startup, but nothing I would use for a db more than a few megs
theRemixnakawire: and it works?
Skizfine for testing too
shafireSkiz: why
?
theRemixnakawire: wow, maybe i should switch hosts
Skizjust personal preference for postgres.
alteregoshafire, I use it for development. It's as speedy as.
shafirealterego: and productive?
^Migs^Dreamhost does the samet hing
nakawiretheRemix: nakawiredesign.com and nakalist.com are both up thanks to it
Skizits a file based db, I can almost tell you for a fact it will lack speed
theRemix^Migs^: lies
^Migs^oh wait, no it doesn't
theRemix^Migs^: the wiki shows me how to NOT get a working capistrano setup
r3factoredpostgres seems very similar to oracle - i love it
^Migs^but I still like Dreamhost
notjohni recently started using postgres over mysql because we're considering migrating at work
psticknepostgres++
alteregoshafire, yeah. Reduces a lot of time that would be spent setting up a database using MySQL et al. Perfect whilst developing apps. Then I use MySQL for deployment generally,.
^Migs^much better than that lame GoDaddy host I used to have
nakawire:theRemix: You'll run into a problem with apache during the setup up which will requre you to change the recipes.rb file to use apache 2.2.4
psticknemysql just *rubs* me the wrong way
geezusfreeeki take it back about using capistrano... i am reading now that it doesn't work for deploying with IIS, which i have to do :(
^Migs^seriously, wtf is wrong with GoDaddy? No shell access, you can't even choose your FTP usernames...
r3factoredbut now my projects are currently using sqlite3 for development. must say im impressed with that little db.
