RyanTMmanveru: yeea so I have an idea for a formal system, but I can't bend the Ruby to easily follow my formal system.
OlatheWhat is your idea ?
RyanTMthe key thing it that sentence was "I can't" I'm sure someone else can easily.
manveruno, wait, you use rails
RyanTMhmm?
OlatheJalapeno, bean, and cheese chimichangas are teh sp aye seh !
manveruno?
RyanTMThe idea is. Create a bundle of methods that can be passed around and combined to form larger bundles of methods. Those bundles should have some methods for making more methods, and then in the end I should be able to apply those bundles to Objects so that they have those methods.
manveruuhm
sry, but ruby is not prototyped :)
not fully, at least
apeiros_RyanTM, I think I said hours ago that you can do: module Foo; include Bar; end
RyanTMmanveru: Yes I use rails, but I'm not using rails for this project.
apeiros_Foo now has it's own and all of Bar's instance methods.
motionhah
split doesnt like binary strings all that well
apeiros_for class methods you need your own series of modules, which you don't include into a class, but use Klass.extend
RyanTMapeiros: Yes, that handles part of what I said. What about the part of being able to have methods that help you build new methods in the bundle?
motion"somecrap".split(/..../) no worki
manveruRyanTM: it's called text-editor
RyanTMmanveru: lol
manverusorry, i'm good for nothing today :P
apeiros_RyanTM, last reply
RyanTMapeiros: yea. I think I see what you are saying.
apeiros: I'll try to hack it.
motionhmmm wtf
O
there is no easy way to split a stirng every 4 chars is there
manveruthere is
Olathestr.scan(/..../)
Yee haw
str.scan(/..?.?.?/)
Maybe that instead for the last few characters.
RyanTMapeiros: it worked. Thank you.
Olathe/.{1,4}/
