has anyone here done some coding with xmpp4r?
I've ran into a slight stumbling block.
adding/removing items from the roster appears to hang the roster helper.

manveruelux: defined?

manverusee, your sentence already had the answer :)
eluxhaha. right you are
ruby is quite the intuitive language
RUEbaiYaTI often wonder if I was lucky that I learned Ruby before Python ? :)
sam-jI learned Python first and didn't bother to learn Ruby because at a cursory glance they're similar. then i sat down and really learned some ruby and it just felt more natural to me.
i'm not forgetting python or anything
RUEbaiYaTsam-j: I don't like that tabs determine a 'block'.
sam-j: I mean, I get nervous that I forget a tab or two ;)
despuh, has Time.parse been renamed?
the web docs and ri shows parse as a class method
but I'm unable to call it in irb, I think
teferiare you sure?
and did you require 'time' first?
despoh, I did not.
thanks...but why does Time.parse need a require 'time', while Time.now doesn't?
teferibecause require 'time' pulls in a file that adds some methods to Time
despah
RUEbaiYaTterferi: I am going to add that to my top 100 reasons why I love to hate Ruby ;)
teferi: *grin*
despI wish this would be mentioned in the docs
teferiruby classes are open
anything can reopen a class and add methods
RUEbaiYaTRuby, as a language, probably scares Bill Gates.. since its so open.
teferium.
RyanTMIs it a security risk leaving a Rakefile open to the web behind an Apache server not configured to run Ruby.
