imperatortoday's ordeal - the monitor that went from sleep to coma
AriaOh, man
imperatorhal_9000, heya - haven't seen you around in a bit
Aria, oh and it gets better - the RAM i bought at compusa doesn't fit - despite checking with 2 store employees that it would work
it's the right type, right pin number, right everything - except the divider slot is off - looks like something apple did to prevent 3rd party ram from being used
AriaAagh!
That's probably the voltage notch.
rueWell, that or CompUSA is sabotaging you :)
AriaGoogle it -- theramspec notch, probably -- it'll explain.
imperatormaybe mine only works in PC's ? that's what it appears to be
of course, it probably would work just fine, but for the notch placement
AriaProbably not. That's there for a reason.
DDR2?
imperatori don't even think they *have* ram for the macs - i'll have to order it
yep ddr2
rueI thought they used FBD
Hm, PC2-5300 is what I am seeing
imperatorthat's what it is
AriaHrm.
Not finding a reference to notch position. How far off is it?
rueLooks like at least the Minis and G5's use different memory
imperatorabout 2mm

jbcAnother silly question: is there a cleaner syntax than !(foo.empty?)
imperatorunless foo.empty?
rueunless foo.empty?
actionimperator wins!
imperatorwins!
cdcarterjbc: you can use an unless conditional, but that depends on the situation
jbcd'oh.
rueDamn it.
jbcI was assigning to a boolean
so prolly not.
meh
isRemote=!(email["Received"].grep(/by (note|tone) with LocalMail/).empty?)
it lacks onionosity
ruejbc: not_remote = ... :)
jbcheh
