|rmulliga||Alright, I figured out the answer to my question was yes.|
so never mind.
|Aria||s'good. It's friday, a girlfriend of mine is coming to town tomorrow, I rewrote significant parts of the accounting system at work today, and things are generally good.|
|slyphon||oh, pretty good|
had some good success with pkgsrc this week
proving that i'm not Completely Crazy and Full of Shit at work
|slyphon||which is a nice feeling :)|
and i ported a pkg-to-rpm script from bash to ruby
so now it, you know, works
and i just discovered extglob syntax for bash
|tpope||I made rails.vim highlight DESC in :order => 'created_at DESC'|
|slyphon||and i'm a Happy Panda|
|tpope||I'm not sure why|
why does OS X install on a case-indifferent filesystem by default?
it's so depressing
do you use it? :)
my rogue adventure engine is coming along... slowly perhaps, but surely
|rmulliga||Is there any way I can set what local variables a method will see without passing them in as parameters?|
|Olathe||rmulliga: Local variables can't really be seen except locally.|
Olathe: I'm trying to make some semantics that will put local variables inside of a block, without having to put them in the || expression at the beginning.
|Olathe||If you mention a local variable inside the block, that will happen.|
|Olathe||If you don't, it won't be seen.|
|rmulliga||but I would like them not to be mentioned|
Let me pastie some code and show you what I'm trying to do....
basically.. I'm trying to define a function, that is called based off of a parsed string, and somehow injects local variables properly into a block.
