ironfroggyback to the south, north carolina.
CSWookieAh.
ironfroggyin the suburbs for a while as we search for a permanent place there.
CSWookieI'm currently enjoying my time in the South.
Historic Fredericksburg makes me happy.
ironfroggyim not looking forward to the heat.
CSWookieironfroggy: That's why God invented central air.
ironfroggyi tried turning it around, but the outside still sucks there.
CSWookieI imagine it will.
When March has 80 degree days.
I'll put up with it.
PedersenMJOkay, I think I figured it out, or at least as close as I'm going to get to it.
CSWookieZope 3 security is kicking me hard in the junk.
PedersenMJ: Your head is harder than any programming wall.
PedersenMJ: Just remember that.
PedersenMJI'm working on a tool that is something like Make (yes, there's a reason, no, I'm not going to argue about it right now, as I want to get to bed shortly). It also is intended to run unit tests, and verify that they are all being run.
Verify test coverage, documentation, etc (using epydoc for the docs, though, I'm not totally crazy).
actionCSWookie blinks at PedersenMJ, figures that he's already heard why that's silly, and doesn't say anything.
CSWookieblinks at PedersenMJ, figures that he's already heard why that's silly, and doesn't say anything.
PedersenMJAnyway, what it looks like is happening is that I'm importing test cases over the top of existing imported modules (for instance, utilTest being overwritten by a subsequent manual re-import).
In short, I'm not going to figure it out tonight. And yes, I do know lots of why it's silly. I also know reasons for why it's right for what I'm doing. And that would take more time to explain than I wish to do tonight :)
CSWookiePedersenMJ: I have healthy skepticism with regard to your reasons, and I'm in full throated agreement with your desire not to share them.
PedersenMJThen we'll agree on my being quiet about them.
CSWookieAbsolutely.
PedersenMJAnyway, you did help me resolve my problem. I might not have the fix right now, but I will tomorrow night. Thank you.
MFenfull throated sounds dirty
actionCSWookie ducks thanks, and lets them go to the guilty party.
CSWookieducks thanks, and lets them go to the guilty party.
MFen: I have no gag reflex when it comes to Python.
MFenow, you win.
ironfroggyi dont know you people.
PedersenMJNow, I'm off to bed. Thanks to those who want them.
ironfroggyif we were the kind of channel that put quotes into the topic for all to see, that would go straight there, i am sure.
CSWookieironfroggy: Thankfully, #python is not that kind of channel.
ironfroggyno, but i might just randomly paste your quote when different people are around.
CSWookieironfroggy: I can accept that, and even approve.
Wish me luck, freinds.
I'm about to learn about Zope 3 security by reading the source.
ironfroggynice knowing ya
