tspgpolo: I'm stuck on ed
gpolo: the ekranlegilo
gpolotsp, what is the reason ?
dhorner_how do I open a file and create if it doesn't exist?
if I do an open(path,"w") I get an error that it doesn't exists
gpoloopen in write mode
uhm
tspgpolo: ekranlegilo = screen reader
I'm blind, and ed provides instant response without all the screen updating junk others have
gpolotsp, ah, ok
tsp, it is a special reason then, im sorry
tspnod
gpolotsp, and interesting to know too
tsponce I can figure out how to code, I'll probably write a better set of tools
gpolodhorner_, what error it gives exactly ?
tspbut I don't like perl, edbrowse can't match the end's with ruby, etc
gpolotsp, there is a command called expand, it doesnt help anything ?
tsp, it isnt python related
tspexpand just expands tabs
I can count the \t's with ed, but I'd need a 500 column screen
berto-any distutils savvy people here?
tspor it would wrap horibly
any hope of posting that to the newsgroup? or would I just get laughed at
gpolotsp, It is a good reason, but I dont know if braces should be used
tsp, maybe some other char, or a combination of chars
tsp, since { } defines a dict
tsp, some people already posted about it tho
dhorner_gpolo, thanks I just figured it out
I was trying to open a file in a dir that didn't exist
tspgpolo: it can ignore the braces after an =
foo = {\ndict\n} should be parsable
but I can't code worth a spaghetti yet
gpolotsp, maybe it would be better to build an editor that supports this syntax and converts the code to "normal" python code before run it
tsp, and maybe, change braces by, begin ... end like in Pascal could be a lot easier
tspgpolo: I thought of a preprocessor
bitprophet_look at the StringIO module
btimbybitprophet_: thanks
bitprophet_at least I think that's what you're asking for
ironfroggytoxik: you could expect the superset of all columns from all types of lines
toxikironfroggy: I'm sorry, I don't understand that - superset of all columns?
