bytecolorVoltageX, the getpass module maybe, havent used it though
dsturnbulli have an xmlrpc server, subclassed from SimpleXMLRPCServer, using ThreadingTCPServer. i'm trying to, on KeyboardInterrupt, block until all requests have finished. any ideas?
twbtriplah_w: fixed
triplah_w: gotta os.close() the "other" fd
Because fork() means there are both fds in both processes
ironfroggydsturnbull: i suppose you could set some kind of closing flag, which would cause any new requests to fail immediately and such that when a request is finished, it would check for that flag and for a lack of any other requests open, and close.
dsturnbullah.. i can override serve_forver() to stop serving based on a flag, yes..
weijie902hi, i tried print "\a" in knoppix but i cant get a beep
triplah_wtwb: i actually thought of that, but i was under the impression that python handled that. well done :)
twbtriplah_w: it wasn't me that found it
it was the dude at work I was telling you about
triplah_wtwb: your code, you asked the right questions, might as well claim it ;)
ahh ok cool
twbHe spotted it right away -- probably becausehe has done C recently
triplah_wyeah
last time i played with pipes i found i didnt have to explicitly close
in fact it was throwing errors
must have been a subtle difference
in python this is
twbtriplah_w: well, in the pipe_in you don't :-)
But pipe_out needs it
triplah_wah ok
twbSo now I just need to find out why upstart isn't running /etc/rcS.d before I pass out from fatigue
triplah_wi havent played with upstart yet
twbIn Edgy, it sucks
weijie902hi, i tried print "\a" in knoppix but i cant get a beep
twbI say don't bother until all the sysv scripts are rewritten; that's roadmapped for feisty I think
weijie902: at the shell, does "printf '\a\n'" beep?
weijie902twb: printf?
twb, that gives me a syntax error
twbweijie902: /bin/printf?
weijie902: at the SHELL, not in python
weijie902ok
twbI suspect beeping is disabled in your shell/terminal/window system/hardware
Hence, if printf(1) doesn't work, python certainly won't
bytecolorkill _all_ the beeps!
weijie902twb, printf "\a \n" doesnt work, ill try to play a wav instead then
dsturnbullif i override a method in a class, how do i refer to the method i just overrode?
twbNo, play a flac or a vorbis or a speex!
dsturnbull: super(...).method
