deltabany clues there?
abtronicit has crashed inside a fairly sane-looking call to PyImport_ImportModule()
something earlier has corrupted its thread state
I'm looking for help figuring out what the "something earlier" part is
deltabare you using multiple threads?
abtronicthe actual backtrace is just PyImport_ImportModule -> PyImport_Import -> PyEval_GetGlobals -> threadstate_getframe -> threadstate_getframe -> sig11
deltab: yes, I have multiple threads unfortunately
mmcgrathWhats my best option for encrypting and decrypting a simple variable length string?
AMDfanboyok, getting warmer, but still no dice
deltababtronic: are you releasing the GIL?
abtronicdeltab: actually, your last question got me thinking
AMDfanboyecho "arg1\narg2" | script.py i think this almost works
deltababtronic: don't call any python API functions while the GIL is released
AMDfanboywell actually its echo "arg1\narg2" | python script.py in my case because my files arent executable, i dont think
deltabonly almost works?
AMDfanboythis is my file
a = raw_input("set a:")
b = raw_input("set b:")
and it gives me this error
brad@brad:/home/brad/Desktop> echo "ldfkjalsdf\n15" | python a2q5.py
set a:set b:Traceback (most recent call last):
File "a2q5.py", line 2, in <module>
b = raw_input("set b:")
EOFError: EOF when reading a line
Jabapythyou need a linebreakat the end

abtronicdeltab: I think I have the lock, but I have not aquired a valid thread. thanks for the pointers, I will try to fix this
ehirdecho "blah\nblah\n"
AMDfanboyecho "arg_a\narg_b\n" | python a2q5.py
