gotgeneskapace: you mean crackers http://tinyurl.com/ywfzm
kapaceyes crackers..
w/e
lol, i read this yesterday!!
padtgah. I can never keep those apart, even in python. But OK, I'll try poking at the PyType_ stuff. thanks marienz
marienzoh, from C? err, sec
kapacebyebye
marienzpadt: PyObject_IsInstance and PyType_Type :)
efphewhy __slots__ does not work with multiple inheritance? http://rafb.net/p/c6ncz362.html
is there a way to use it in these situations?
padtmarienz: ok.
kathanIs there a way to get the path of a string in a html document with python python or any linux software. Something like html/body/table[2]/tr[3]/td[2].
rsd-hi can anyone here recommend a good tutorial / book that has assignments with their solutions at the end? it's the best way i learn a new lang..
Dtu3ZOhtlnefphe: i don't really know much about slots, but given the nature of them, what would you expect to happen if you inherited a slotted class and then defined your own attributes?
gotgenesrsd: http://diveintopython.org/
arg, I meant rsd-
rsd-: http://pythonchallenge.com/ is also good but challenging, probably won't get you up to speed as quickly as Pilgrim's book
BrackiCan somebody explain what PyPy is?
efpheDtu3ZOhtln, yes, in fact it's not too strange. but the __slots__ idea is cool and it would be nice to find a way to use __slots__ in these circumstances
MrNormSBracki: from what I understand it's an implementation of python written in python
wikipedia ought to have info on it
rsd-gotgenes: awesome thanks
gotgenesrsd-: no problem, Dive Into Python is still my favorite programming book, give it a look.
Alright, guys, I gotta ride the rollers. Take care
mabufodoes anyone know anything about 'clamwin' antivirus?
MrNormSnever heard of it
rafor sock in [sock for sock in write if len(sock.send_buffer) > 0]: <-- I'm guessing there's no way to clean this up other than sticking the if inside the for and removing the list comprehension?
would be nice if for x in y if x > z: was supported
Dtu3ZOhtlnra: for sock in write: if not len(sock.send_buffer) > 0: continue; otherstuff..
gzlra: would be better to replace the [] with ()
raDtu3ZOhtln: it doesn't like that
gzl: ah, good idea
gzlra: the other option is to use ifilter
raaren't list comprehensions/generators favored over filter and friends?
gzlsome people complain that filter is not pythonic. I happen not to care. sometimes I think it looks nicer.
Dtu3ZOhtlni still don't see why you're looping over the same set twice
gzlif you use () you don't loop twice
ra: as far as I'm concerned anything in itertools is more than fair game.
Dtu3ZOhtlnstill kind of pointless, but w/e
gzlit's not completely pointless. if the entire loop is only doing stuff on socks with positive buffer length, then the whole thing gets indented an extra increment.
