| rindolf | octagon: what is Fuse::DBI? octagon: does it have anything to do with the filesystem-in-user-space thing? |
| octagon | it's FUSE (filesystem in user space) frontend to a DBI database |
| ew73 | How does that map? |
| rindolf | octagon: oh, I see. FUSE++ |
| octagon | mount ('mytable', '/mount/point'); ls /mount/point |
| ew73 | cat $table/$row/$index? |
| octagon | that is mapped to a select statement or cat /dev/random >> /mount/point/foo does a update and like that it all depends on how you set it up |
| ew73 | Somewhat handy! |
| octagon | you map SQL queries to the various inode operations |
| rindolf | octagon: I once debugged loggedFS and found a bug that made me unable to use it properly for ~/.kde/share/config . So I debugged it, libfuse, the kernel FUSE driver, and the kernel VFS layer. Eventually I found out it had a missing flag. |
| octagon | i mean file operations |
| rindolf | I love FOSS. |
| octagon | rindolf: that sounds tedious |
| rindolf | octagon: oh, it was. octagon: but I found out what the problem is. |
| octagon | is it fixed now? you submitted your patch and whatnot? |
| rindolf | octagon: yes, it is. |
| octagon | whew! good for me then :) |
| rindolf | octagon: the author incoporated it into the latest version. octagon: not of libfuse. libfuse was fine. But of loggedFS. |
| octagon | i don't know what that is |
| rindolf | octagon: http://loggedfs.sourceforge.net/ |
| ew73 | I think the function can be inferred from its name. |
| octagon | ah |
| Khisanth | ew73: that is not very reliable method, too many things with meaningless names |
| ew73 | I don't know kwhat you kmean. |
| rindolf | Khisanth: why did you ban dazjorz? octagon: aren't you in Georgia? |
| octagon | nope |
