Insolitis there a simple way to append to a file at the beggining of its contents?
xandInsolit: no
:0
Ani-_Insolit: use Tie::File
Insolitok
:) thanks
Ani-_Insolit: if you want to change something in a file you - basically - need to re-write the file
Insolitwell Tie::File basically does what i was thinking to do
Ani-_Insolit: That is, opening the file and printing everything (with the chances) to a new file. At the end you rename the new file to the old file.
Insolitwell i just wondered if there could be a parameter i could pass to open like >>, that instead of appending to the end, would appen in the beginning
Ani-_Insolit: that is what Tie::File does. But it is important to know what you are doing.
Insolit: That's not how files/the file system works.
Insoliti understand
primepieInsolit append at the end, read from the end
j2daoshhey all :)
is there a big difference between normal perl scipting and cgi scripting?
primepieperl is a language, it doesn't matter where you use it.
j2daoshso if i was to decide to use perl instead of php for my website, I could just type a normal perl script and it would work the way i'm used to perl working then?
or is there certain things i have to do in order for it to work with websites?
is there a good doc on cgi-scripting somewhere i can look at?
f3ewperlbot cgi
