Khisanthmithraic: you should have /proj/gale-safe/system/distill/tools/binaries/Linux-i686/perl-5.8.8/lib/5.8.8/Test/Harness.pm
rindolfHi all.
mithraicKhisanth: thanks. Definitely do not. Something went awry in install, then.
Khisanthmithraic: and go fix your clock while you are at it
mithraicKhisanth: yeah, not my machine unfortunately (department compute server)
xp_prghi all, I am trying to use this: if($justTempReading =~ / *(1|2|3|4) +(\d+.\d+) +(C) +(.*)/) { to match this: 1 20.6968 C 19:24:01 04-12-07
is there a better way?
integralwhy not just split on whitespace?
xp_prgwell because this is a socket client and the characters are coming in piece meal

actionintegral rolls his eyes.

YaakovI expect all of you to attend YAPC::NA.
alesterWhat if I don't?
integralWell, the regexp is an incorrect tool too then!
actionYaakov rolls integral's eyes back to him.
Yaakovrolls integral's eyes back to him.
integralYou rolled an 8.
xp_prgwhat is the correct tool?
integralI would say an FSM, but that's scary and complicated.
(Mushroom sauce though)
devdasxp_prg: read an entire line, then split?
Khisanthalester: you will be forced to attend at gunpoint
xp_prgright that is what I want to do
runelindwhen I launch mplayer from a perl script it works just fine, but when I launch mplayer from within a while loop in that same script, it complains about not being able to open /dev/dsp
xp_prgbut I can't "read" and entire line, I can assemble an entire line
over time
integralxp_prg: Tell me more about this data, how are the packets delimited?
You just run the split *once* you've assembled a "line".
dkrrunelind: mplayer -loop 0
devdaswhile(<>) { @a = split (/\s+/); };
xp_prgit appears the lines are delimited by \r
runelinddkr: ok let me try that
torrrwhere is the Term package ?
