|Marticus||any thoughts on my suid issue?|
|Yaakov||The origin of the word "Wiki" in relation to the publically editable website, is from the Hawaiin language.|
|nanonyme_||Marticus: what does ls -l foo.pl say for you?|
|Yaakov||The misspelling "pwned" which I parody here as "powned" is from online gaming.|
|nanonyme_||no, the whole line|
|Marticus||-rwsr-xr-x 1 root neomail 120681 2007-04-10 15:13 neomail.pl|
|nanonyme_||hmm, weird. that should be perfectly working then|
|Marticus||Can't do seteuid!|
Premature end of script headers: neomail.pl
|Yaakov||There's your problem. It wants setuid.|
|Marticus||forgive me if this seems rude, but isn't that what I've been saying?|
|Yaakov||I haven't been reading it so I can't comment.|
|Yaakov||However, you should probably read perldoc perlsec|
|Marticus||I agree though, I'd rather not use this program|
I agree 100%, but when the boss says, I'm not concerned...
|Yaakov||If you don't have a setuid perl executable you are out of luck.|
|Marticus||isn't that suidperl?|
|Yaakov||Yes, it is.|
|Marticus||I have it|
|Yaakov||Is it in the same directory as your normal executable?|
Is it the same version?
I don't use suidperl, so I can't help too much.
it's okay, I appreciate the effort you've already put into it
|action||nanonyme_ wonders if he wants to install perl with suid support|
|nanonyme_||wonders if he wants to install perl with suid support|
should be safer as is anyway :)
you know the silly thing is, they wanted to overcome the restrictions on number of open files for imap
and the only way to do that is directly access the filesystem
all because the stupi... err... client doesn't know how to organize their mail into "folders"
|Marticus||they want to open a box with 6000 messages in it|
|dazjorz||I have two Perls ATM|
a safe and a normal one
