Marticusany thoughts on my suid issue?
ZoffixNo.
YaakovThe origin of the word "Wiki" in relation to the publically editable website, is from the Hawaiin language.
nanonyme_Marticus: what does ls -l foo.pl say for you?
YaakovThe misspelling "pwned" which I parody here as "powned" is from online gaming.
Marticusnanonyme_: -rwsr-xr-x
nanonyme_no, the whole line
Marticus-rwsr-xr-x 1 root neomail 120681 2007-04-10 15:13 neomail.pl
nanonyme_hmm, weird. that should be perfectly working then
MarticusCan't do seteuid!
Premature end of script headers: neomail.pl
YaakovThere's your problem. It wants setuid.
Marticuspretty crazy
YaakovCrappy.
Marticusforgive me if this seems rude, but isn't that what I've been saying?
YaakovI haven't been reading it so I can't comment.
Marticusahh, k
YaakovHowever, you should probably read perldoc perlsec
MarticusI agree though, I'd rather not use this program
trust me...
I agree 100%, but when the boss says, I'm not concerned...
YaakovIf you don't have a setuid perl executable you are out of luck.
Marticusisn't that suidperl?
YaakovYes, it is.
MarticusI have it
YaakovIs it in the same directory as your normal executable?
Is it the same version?
I don't use suidperl, so I can't help too much.
Marticusyes yes
it's okay, I appreciate the effort you've already put into it
actionnanonyme_ wonders if he wants to install perl with suid support
nanonyme_wonders if he wants to install perl with suid support
should be safer as is anyway :)
Marticusindeed
you know the silly thing is, they wanted to overcome the restrictions on number of open files for imap
and the only way to do that is directly access the filesystem
all because the stupi... err... client doesn't know how to organize their mail into "folders"
nanonyme_:P
Marticusthey want to open a box with 6000 messages in it
dazjorzI have two Perls ATM
a safe and a normal one
