| Matsy | Lol |
| ziro01 | I'll soon find out |
| Matsy | With "Constant subroutine __USE_POSIX undefined" |
| somian | Ani-_ ... weak ... ;-) |
| Ani-_ | I agree. |
| Matsy | http://lists.debian.org/debian-perl/2002/11/msg00014.html |
| Ani-_ | Why should it be strong? :/ |
| somian | Ani-_ its not very effective when you put down / tease someone based on responding to their send w/o context. |
| gushi | So where would I put the lines that fix this? |
| Matsy | Thats there too |
| gushi | right into features.ph? Hrmm |
| Ani-_ | w/o context? Did you mrean w/o content? :/ |
| roby | OK, no ppm repository seems to have PerlIO::gzip, does this mean I need to compile it myself? |
| somian | Uhh, no ... why would I mean "w/o content"? roby: yes. |
| Ani-_ | Because there was no content (or atleast no valuable content) in my message either. |
| somian | Ani-_: "context" is something that exists when people are having a conversation. |
| Ani-_ | somian: I know. |
| Matsy | Why is there a heavy discussion |
| Ani-_ | I'm not that stupid... |
| Matsy | On every programming channel. |
| somian | Ani-_: you aren't? I could not tell. |
| Ani-_ | :( |
| somian | Hey, low-bandwidth medium. Only thing we see at our end is what you type. |
| Ani-_ | somian: also: earlier you mentioned: PPM::Repositories. It might be good to mention http://kobesearch.cpan.org/ aswell (it lists the repository servers that have a particular package) |
| somian | Only thing we know about you is what can be inferred by how you respond to other people's sends. |
| gushi | Actually, this appears from another search to be caused by a missing term::readkey |
| somian | Yes, Randy Kobes also has a listing there. |
| magic_user | can perl for the web have pooled database connections? |
| ides | magic_user: yes |
| somian | perlbot, be magic_user |
| perlbot | <magic_user> How I can make teh web wit pearl?!?! |
| Ani-_ | AFAIK Randy Kobes' search is the only one that has a listing. PPM::Repositories justs lists the ppm-servers. Not what they have. |
| somian | It's the job of the ppm script itself to find out what packages a PPM repository has <-- Ani-_ (& roby) |
| Ani-_ | Yes, but adding all the servers is not a good idea either. If one doesn't responds or very slowly then you can wait a long time. |
| somian | That doesn't seem very important to this discussion, IMHO. |

| CPAN | upload: WWW-Mechanize-SpamCop-0.04 (+++ ) by ADAMOWSKI |
| gushi | Okay, the root cause of all this was actually a missing perl-devel module er perl-devel RPM |
| Ani-_ | Nothing is important. But if PPM doesn't respond (or responds very slowly) they will come back here asking what to do... (I assume) |
