#perl - Tue 27 Mar 2007 between 10:01 and 10:10

rindolfHeh.
I'd rather not inc or dec ofer0 so he won't reprocriate (sp?)
Botjeretaliate?
rindolfI still don't know how he got so much karma.
Botje: right.
Retaliate, reprocriate - same thing.
peterS++ # Good input.
peterS: but I think I'll just leave it as is.
peterSrindolf: if you wish. I'm just saying, people will ask why you want to make a big change to a project you are not centrally involved in, and they'll be happier if you can point to concrete problems rather than theoretical ones. the last person to try to barge into linux kernel land and social-engineer things his own way was Eric Raymond a few years ago, and he got laughed right off the list
ofer0rindolf, good article
peterSwell, not laughed off, but people balked at doing what he wanted them to do just because he thought it was a good idea, and eventually his ideas were ignored to the point where he got bored and drifted away
rindolfSee: http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/hackers-il/message/2465
KhisanthpeterS: but this is rindolf we are talking about here ;)
rindolfofer0: thanks.
I do like the "Let the flames begin" pun.
But it may be rehearsed.
peterS: some of my suggestions did make a difference.
Khisanthso instead of contributing you are going to waste people's time? :/
rindolfKhisanth: next time I hear this "waste the precious developers' time it takes to read a message [10 minutes]" argument, I swear I'm going to go out and kill a kitten.
It's bull.
My most productive time is not spent writing code.
integralIf you need somewhere to troll, p6i is quiet! ...
rindolfintegral: perl6-internals?
integralyeah
Khisanthreading a message doesn't, starting a flamewar does -_-
rindolfWow! It's been very busy.
Khisanth: you can filter it out.
ofer0rindolf, slashdot it :)
rindolfofer0: right.
Khisanthand you seem especially talented at rubbing people the wrong way
rindolfKhisanth: some of my most productive and enlightening time is spent in flamewars.
perlygatekeepersome people pay good money for that
peterSmy mention of eric raymond wasn't completely coincidental
