rickestTeal_Stallion: no idea
Randalopen/close cd-rom is a pretty O/S specific thing
you said you're on win32?
you should look at the activestate docs
for something unique to AS perl
wolverianTeal_Stallion, http://search.cpan.org/src/MIYAGAWA/Plagger-0.7.17/lib/Plagger/Plugin/Notify/Eject/mswin32.pm you can figure it out from there too, if you're in a hurry.
shortenwolverian's url is at http://xrl.us/vdun
Randalsince I'm not running windows, I can't help. :)
jpegby the way, Teal_Stallion, what are you doing?
Teal_Stallionjsut trying to open/close
jpegTeal_Stallion: I understood that part, but thanks. I was asking what was the context of opening/closing.
Randalyeah, why should Perl control that?

Randalmy laptop doesn't really have a "close" either. :)
just open
maybe he's trying to remotely control the coffee cup holder. :)
jpegand "it's just a silly gee-whiz look-what-i-can-do project" would be a perfectly good answer. I was just curious.
ok then...
rickestwhen I work from home I run a script that randomly opens/shuts my cddrive at work just to remind them I'm watching lol

nobody seems to have manners any more
