#perl - Sun 11 Mar 2007 between 00:16 and 00:29

jontecyes, I was about to correct myself
LisaLaptopok, did you get the private message this time, simcop2387-tv
hey somian
jontecI was thinking of the song real quick
crungejontec: who is the 'you' in that sentence
jontecthe people that were talking to each other.... ruby would have known the context
somianOk hobbs, I see in kern.log that my usb printer was recognized ... what next? :-)
hobbssomian: CUPS config probably
crungesomian: what distro?
somianOk, sounds good. Manpages ahead, full steam ;)
ubuntu
crungesomian: Oh, you just run the "set up my printer for me" thingie... there has to be one
hobbsyeah, there is, somewhere
and it will even work!
(I'd tell you where but my home system is approximately kubuntu ;)
tagheh
hobbs: have you had any troubles with vim 7's file type detection?
hobbstag: not that I've noticed, no
tagit doesn't detect file types correctly for me for a lot of things
particularly C and C++ sources
hobbsthat's a bit odd. No, I haven't seen it
you don't have anything strange installed that you would expect to interfere with it, I guess?
tagnot that I could think of, or that created any problems with vim 6.
stranger thing is it's only for certain file types
somianHmm, the HPLIP Tools box under Preferences does not even start
tagdoesn't detect perl, python, C or C++ correctly. But it does detect java, sh, xml, (x)html, xslt, xsd correctly
simcop2387-tvjontec, yes we are a cult i slipped up and now wwe have to kill you to cover our tracks, and all other 497 people in #perl
somiangnome-cups-add dou think?
tagOh, also this is only a problem when the file starts with #
jontecsimcop2387-tv: good count
taglike, #!/usr/bin/perl, or, #include <stdio.h>
somianHmm, my printer is detected twice! Help, hobbs! >:)
tagbasicly anything with a "#" in it, either for comments or she-bangs, fucks up the filetype detection
simcop2387-tvsomian, windows?
hobbstag: hmm
somian: pick one? ;)
jontechobbs: hey, we (ubuntu-ers) have a channel :D #ubuntu
or you could just go with kubuntu, it's way better
tagkde is stupid.
jontecgnome always has you beating your head against the wall
