LeoNerdrindolf: FCGI::Async 0.09 is up, give-or-take CPAN's reindexing time...
actionsomian guffaws as xand never sees the jumbo halibut speeding for his head until it is too late.
somianguffaws as xand never sees the jumbo halibut speeding for his head until it is too late.
dazjorzLeoNerd: IO::Async 0.03 is on CPAN already?
LeoNerddazjorz: Has been for a few days now
actionxand wonders what a halibut is
xandwonders what a halibut is
somianWhy don't you wikipedia, just for the halibut?
LeoNerdxand: it's a type of fish I believe
dazjorzLeoNerd: Warning: Cannot install IO::Async, don't know what it is.
LeoNerddazjorz: Given the amount of code required to "babysit" a child process with STDOUT/STDERR and the signal, I might sometime write some wrapper code in IO-Async to do it... That example will continue to work, but if I do that I'll rewrite the example to use it
dazjorz:)
rindolfsomian: wikipedia what?
dazjorzLeoNerd: Ok :) Let me know when you've done that
LeoNerddazjorz: That's not a Module::Build warning.. wassat from?
somianpunning ...
octagonanyone know of a good reference for implementing a DBD for the DBI module? like specifically the API that needs to be implemented by the DBD...
xandLeoNerd: eww
brianskihmm
dazjorzLeoNerd: install IO::Async in CPAN
LeoNerd: but install IO::Async::Set just installs IO::Async :)
actionCPAN upload: FCGI-Async-0.09 by PEVANS
CPANupload: FCGI-Async-0.09 by PEVANS
brianskianyone know of a good way to check for memory leaks in a test script?
Ani-_octagon: DBI::DBD maybe?
dazjorzAh, there it is :)
LeoNerddazjorz: Heh.. dunno.. I use my distro tools (dh-make-perl) to build a real .deb package out of the CPAN dist tarball
brianskii want to create a few new objects, delete them as the API specifies, and make sure there are no dangling references. ideas?
LeoNerdSo I don't go anywhere near the cpan tool itself
octagonAni-_: i looked at that, but there is no clear API documentation there
dazjorzLeoNerd: cpan doesn't know IO::Async, but it does know IO::Async::Set and if you install ::Set, it just installs IO::Async...
maybe it's the NAME tag as Juerd said
rindolfDon't you think it's high time for perl-5.8.9?
LeoNerddazjorz: perhaps so...
brianskiLeoNerd, hmm i wonder why they don't hack dh-make-perl into cpan like they do with bsdpan
rindolfperl-5.8.8 has many bugs.
somianLeoNerd: aha. That was just being discussed (2 or 3 days ago), to some considerable degree of miscomprehension.
LeoNerdsomian: what was?
Ani-_octagon: it might be best to ask your questions on the DBI-mailing list then... You will (probably) get a more useful answer.
somianThat procedure you just cited, for Debian.
dazjorzLeoNerd: cpan wants you to add Module::Build to your dependencies :)
octagonAni-_: hmm you're probably right about that ;)
somianYou will have to try to explain it to merlyn sometime, maybe after his knee is not hurting anymore.
