<robotangel> ReAn, try to run "emerald" manually
<DaeJeo1> hello guys
<meta-morph-O1> kkathman: if I have terminal open, and it's recognizing my commands as text not as commands how do I get back to the @linux-k2fu:">
<kkathman> meta-morph-O1: ok.. so when you come up from a cold boot, does it boot to KDE/Gnome?
<meta-morph-O1> I'm not sure...I can run kcontrol thru terminal?!?
<robotangel> of course
<ReAn[SuSE]> hrm
<kkathman> meta-morph-O1: what I want to know is if it actually goes straight to the GUI or stops in text mode?
<ReAn[SuSE]> when i select "Aquamarine" it says: "Found not compatable window manage. Waiting..."
<meta-morph-O1> GUI : )
<robotangel> ReAn, try emerald :?
<kkathman> ReAn[SuSE]: you didnt install correctly then
<kkathman> or didnt install everything
<ReAn[SuSE]> >_<
<kkathman> meta-morph-O1: ok..well thats good
<ReAn[SuSE]> i followed exactly what was on the site :(
<kkathman> meta-morph-O1: you are KDE or Gnome?
<kkathman> ReAn[SuSE]: probably not or it would work :)
<meta-morph-O1> well I was gnome..then I used packman or suse to get the KDE package
<kkathman> meta-morph-O1: ok
<robotangel> ReAn[SuSE], what about emerald?
<meta-morph-O1> so I'm not sure which it is now...
<ReAn[SuSE]> it's the same thing
<robotangel> then, I can tell you, there's something wrong with it *hrhr*
<kkathman> oope
<kkathman> there he goes :)
<kkathman> ReAn[SuSE]: which method did you use?
<kkathman> for installing
<ReAn[SuSE]> yast
<kkathman> I mean.. with XGL and no AIGLX ??
<ReAn[SuSE]> plugged in the xgl repository for suse 10.1
<ReAn[SuSE]> yea
<ReAn[SuSE]> well
<ReAn[SuSE]> i already had comiz / xgl running & working
<ReAn[SuSE]> so i downloaded all the beryl packages
<ReAn[SuSE]> on the list
<meta-morph-O1> kkathman: sorry, disconnect
<ReAn[SuSE]> and installed them
<kkathman> ReAn[SuSE]: ok go to YAST, and search "beryl".. everyplace that something is checked, and there is a -snapshot version, uncheck the plain one, and check the snapshot one instead and accept
<ReAn[SuSE]> ah
<kkathman> ReAn[SuSE]: so for instance.... instead of beryl-core.... uncheck and select beryl-core-snapshot
<kkathman> thats the stuff you want
<kkathman> meta-morph-O1: thats ok
<kkathman> meta-morph-O1: ok... so are you in KDE or Gnome at the moment?
<meta-morph-O1> must be in gnome...
<ReAn[SuSE]> what's the difference kkathman?
<kkathman> ReAn[SuSE]: newest things are in snapshot
<meta-morph-O1> because Banshee and evolution are there
<kkathman> beryl is releasing to that package now
<kkathman> meta-morph-O1: ok
