<DopeSick> Well, i'm trying to get something to work here
<spookje--> no one?
<DopeSick> I downloaded something that should be it, but it just has nothing to install, just to unzip and doesnt work
<mirzapirza__> we should all just give up and use html
<DopeSick> lol
<mirzapirza__> spookje--: huh?
<DopeSick> mirzapirza__ can you help me with TK installation? =/
<teferi> DopeSick: did you perhaps download the source to the Tk library and not a compiled binary?
<DopeSick> Dude, i think it was the compiled binary...
<teferi> you just said there was no dll
<teferi> if you downloaded a *win32* compiled binary, it would have a tksomething.dll
<DopeSick> yes, there was no dll
<spookje--> mirza, i try to make a script which replaces some strings in files
<spookje--> only i dont get it working
<tpope> what was there?
<DopeSick> oh, then it wasnt the compiled binary, thats for sure
<DopeSick> some folders
<spookje--> http://pastie.caboo.se/42601
<spookje--> got this atm
<DopeSick> and a readme file that i couldnt open normally
<blink> ahhh, windows users.
<DopeSick> and i checked, no dll's =/
<tpope> yes I totally cared about the folders
<tpope> and not the files in them
<DopeSick> just this : tkWin32Dll.c
<tpope> that's source
<tpope> .c is C
<DopeSick> so i downloaded the wrong thing?
<tpope> yes
<DopeSick> shiz...
<mirzapirza__> spookje--: i think you want gsub without !
<spookje--> whats the diff?
<Olathe> ! changes the original.
<DopeSick> Damn, i just cant find the real TK file to download...
<mirzapirza__> gsub changes the line-variable and returns nil or something
<Olathe> gsub returns the substitution, gsub! is evil, I think.
<blink> gsub! alters the string itself, gsub alters a copy of the string. both return the altered version.
<argv[]> right
<Olathe> gsub! returns nil with no replacements.
<Olathe> Which is, like, totally unlobsterlike.
<argv[]> thats also true
<teferi> Olathe: that is about as un-lobsterlike as you can get
<blink> standards for ! methods really.
<Olathe> I know !
<teferi> it should return the string with no replacements
<Olathe> I mean.
<Olathe> I know.
<smtlaissezfaire> Is kind_of? an alias for is_a?
<blink> essentially, yes
<spookje--> hmm
