#math

<JimDangle> well i hate when i dont understand stuff
<JimDangle> that i should understand easier and faster
<JimDangle> but anyways
<srart> I think you understand it alright, but can' tquite figure out how to get it on paper.
<JimDangle> i think thats it
<JimDangle> i mean i understand whats going on
<srart> It's the hardest concept to get out of any of the stuff I've done. The calc 2 is harder for the reason that you don't have a set way to do things, and can even have no answear for a real problem.
<JimDangle> so it is tan'% = (y/x)' and not %' = tan^-1 ' (y/x)
<srart> right
<JimDangle> ok
<JimDangle> before i had that
<JimDangle> and had sec^2% = (xyy' - yxx
<JimDangle> fucking enter
<JimDangle> sec^2% = (xyy' - yxx') / x^2
<JimDangle> and still not sure if thast remotely right
<Trixsey> http://pastebin.ca/363184
<arctanx> way to go delayed response :P
<Trixsey> I fail to see what's wrong with this code! I'm getting array out of bounce on my matrices
<Trixsey> haha
<Trixsey> ya
<srart> stop at sec^2%(d%/dt) and (h/30)' = 1/30 dh/dt and plug in what you know.
<Trixsey> I got caught up in a conversation, and looked over my code again :/
<arctanx> Trixsey: I said before, the row and column are the wrong way around
<Trixsey> I turned them around
<Trixsey> :]
<JimDangle> srart i dont understand all of that
<arctanx> so why does your paste not reflect that?
<Trixsey> it's the same?
<Trixsey> even if I turn them around I get index out of bounds
<Trixsey> though
<JimDangle> probably because we use different notations
<arctanx> Trixsey: should it not be "SumC = SumC+A(e,c);" and "SumR = SumR+A(f,d);"?
<arctanx> if it still fails with that changed, do you know what line the out of bounds error occurs?
<arctanx> ah I just checked the diff
<arctanx> you didn't change the right ones around
<Trixsey> nvm
<Trixsey> I see whats wrong
<srart> JimDangle: you want to know d%/dt|h=30, and you know dh/dt|30=3 m/sec
<arctanx> Trixsey: try that one: http://pastebin.ca/363188
<JimDangle> srart right
<arctanx> Trixsey: all working now?
<srart> so sec^2%|h=30 = 1/30 *3
<JimDangle> i dont really understand that notation
<srart> sec^2%= 1/10
<JimDangle> ok better
<srart> I'm using | for @, easier to type and looks more like math notation | meens evaluate @
<JimDangle> oh
<srart> sqrt both sides
<Trixsey> arctanx, no
<srart> and tan-1 answear
