<madmac> is it legally possible to bind flash player in my application ?
<madmac> so that, the user no longer requires to download it and set it up manually
<madmac> my app will just cp flashlib torequiredmozlocation
<icwiener_> PhilRod: ebn seems to not work properly atm. Or I forgot how to use it...
<sredna> madmac: that is a bit OT here ;)
<madmac> eh :)
<madmac> it is just a question I was wondering, but ok ,no matter :]
<sredna> i don't know if anybody here is competent to answer it ;)
<madmac> ohh,you are boyz,you are very skilled ;)
<madmac> cause I see it setup by default in many distributions ,so I wondered
<sredna> Sho_: ping
<impulze> hm how do i setup kdeprint to use my client.conf in /etc/cups?
<impulze> since appearently kdeprint does not support https://host for cups remote hosts
<impulze> cups itself does since lpstat -a shows my printers
<Simkin> impulze: there is also sshlp for cups
<Giuly> hi, is it possibe to map XF86LowerVolume to do nothing, because kmix lowers the master while watching tv in mythtv
<impulze> Simkin: what does that do?
<icwiener_> PhilRod: I manually checked a doc from svn (http://websvn.kde.org/trunk/KDE/kdegames/doc/atlantik/index.docbook?view=markup) and inserted the &kappname; wich is defined in the header . EBN says: "Prefer '' over '&kappname;'. (Use the entity for this application instead)"
<Simkin> impulze: print to remote cups printers over ssh
<impulze> Simkin: why should i do this? lp* works fine, just not kdeprint
<PhilRod> icwiener_: yes, you should. Makes it more readable, for one thing. I don't recall the other reasons to use it
<feindbild> Giuly: disable KMilo
<feindbild> Giuly: Control Center -> KDE Components -> Service Manager
<hermit> If I were to use kdm and kde on my desktop, would it allow me to switch active users without logging out each user (like how windows lets you switch users and retain all the running processes in the background users desktops) ?
<nick01> in what dir are the trash system home etc icons stored ? so I can move them to my desktop ? I had an existing Desktop so they werent created
<icwiener_> PhilRod: I read the thread but forgot it already as well. But Is kappname meant to be removed for kde4? In this case, kappname could be replaced globally.
<Giuly> feindbild: thanks :)
<PhilRod> icwiener_: I don't know of plans to remove it completely, since it's used for the 'generic text' entities. But it mostly shouldn't actually appear in the content of a doc
<icwiener_> PhilRod: I see.
<PhilRod> icwiener_: eg, the &install.compile.whateveritis; entity expands to something like "...How to install &kappname;..."
<PhilRod> which is why &kappname; needs to be defined
<icwiener_> PhilRod: Ah. I mean Oh. ;) I removed it from one or two docs a few weeks ago (spoken about it with some guys here) but nobody complained so far. I guess I better put them back where they were then. :)
<PhilRod> nick01: if you want a trash icon on your desktop, just create new -> link to location -> trash:/
<nick01> PhilRod, I went through that before it won';t work it will apperar always full
<PhilRod> hrm, yeah, I think it does that
<nick01> PhilRod, I was told here that even compiled without arts support u could still get sound notifications to work- aplay doesn't work :|
<PhilRod> nick01: AFAIK, you need a player that'll play ogg (and perhaps mp3)
<PhilRod> you might want to try mplayer or xine
<nick01> PhilRod, any simple one ? unlike those u mentioned ?
<chavo> nick01, if you create a new trash icon on the desktop open it with kate and add this line -> EmptyIcon=trashcan_empty
<chavo> then it will show the empty icon
<PhilRod> nick01: ogg123, perhaps
<jinks> hi, what could be the reason, that my normal user cannot see some window-decrations in the Control Center while root can?
<PhilRod> hm, that sounds like an interesting problem
<nick01> PhilRod, any mp3 among those sounds ? and can that ogg123 play them as well as wav files ? oh well I might as well google
<revelation_> Hi. Is there an easy way to test the new KDE4 snap shots? (a live cd or something like that...)
<PhilRod> jinks: create a new user. Run kde with that user. Can you see those window decorations there?
<PhilRod> revelation_: you can build it from trunk. Alternatively, there *might* be packages for your distro
<PhilRod> nick01: indeed
<revelation_> PhilRod: but this will break my KDE3 installation, won't it?
